Mixed bag ...... that the viewer is left holding .............

From a promising beginning, "Night Train" gradually descends into the abyss. The casting is fine, Danny Glover, Lee Sobieski, and Steve Zahn give enough effort to carry the film, but unfortunately the script is badly underdeveloped, and comes across as nothing more than a bloated "Twilight Zone" episode. Think "Treasure of Sierra Madre" meets "Runaway Train" with a sci-fi premise. I believe the idea was to make the audience ponder about where the box came from, but by the ending, no one really cares, because with such minimal information, the puzzle is impossible to solve. Naturally this was a big letdown, just like the entire film. - MERK
