Warning: Spoilers
No thanks! What a downer of an ending. My wife's V O D pick of the week. Not a bad story. This movie is like my wife's favorite show Day of Our Lives except with better acting and story. I find Richard Gere is such a good actor and with age he only gets better. Diane Lane always plays a similar role and is type-casted. Lane's character's husband runs off for 7 months on her and then decides that he has made a mistake and wants his life back with her; not taking into account that he deeply hurt her and that she may have moved on without him. Lane chooses a new life with this doctor played by Gere who ends up being her true love. Tragically, he dies in a mud slide helping at a third world health clinic. What a downer and kills a perfect story. The film did not need the shock-downer ending. The ending did not fit right and destroyed the story. I give this film a six out of ten.
