A Rare, Surreal but Satisfying Short Film
4 March 2008
Warning: Spoilers
"The Oriental Nightfish" is a short film based on a song that Linda McCartney recorded with Paul McCartney and Denny Laine (Wings) during the sessions for "Band on the Run" in 1973. Being unused, it was used for this strange animated short film that shows up on a video release of animations with McCartney music from the 1980s.

I'm not too sure what the plot or point is, but the trippiness throughout sums it all up. The song is not bad, and the animation is actually really good. It's very different from any other Wings or McCartney outing, the song is odd throughout.

I haven't seen this elsewhere, but it was pretty cool. The song is available on a Linda McCartney album. Overall, 8.5 out of 10. Cool and yet very rare short film.
