After seeing, Deck The Halls, I was quite surprised as it was much better than all of the reviews I had seen or read of!! Yes, it is "cliche", but what movies today aren't? I think the basic meaning of the movie is what's important and Danny Devito is hilarious! It is quite heartwarming to see how the friendships evolve. I also think the basic meaning of Christmas IS, family & friends are what is important not what's under the tree which is portrayed in a grand manner in a good movie.
I was a little confused as the previews showed it as more of a " who can outdo" one another which isn't the case at all.
It's well worth seeing and I for one will purchase it on DVD and it will become a "Christmas staple".
