One of the worst comedies of the year and it shows....avoid at all costs.

Speaking of the movie "Let's Go To Prison",the question is that how in the hell did so many talented comedians make this garbage of cinema? This is right up there with the second installment of "Jackass 2",and so many other lame comedians as one of the worst movies of the year. This is directed by and co-starring Bob Odenkirk(of Comedy Central's Mr. Show)and co-written by Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant(also of Comedy Central's Reno 911!)and starring none other than the smarm-tastic and one replusively smart ass Will Arnett, who is better known for his work from the FOX-TV series "Arrested Development". His talent is totally wasted in the piece of junk. However,"Let's Go To Prison" is nothing more than a skit version from either an episode of Saturday Night Live or for that manner a MAD-TV sketch where one of the characters get sent to an "OZ" like prison masquerading as a satirical look at some of the flaws in the penal system. Basically this is a virtual send-up on that HBO series "OZ" and also takes cues from every other prison movie including several references of FOX's "Prison Break" to an extent, even though this film runs under 90 minutes is revolving.

As far as the story goes,in what Arnett's own persona that could be called a close resemblance to another lame actor--David Spade(of Just Shoot Me fame),Dax Shepard plays a three-time loser who gets to seek revenge on a late judge by getting his entitled son(Arnett)sent to the same prison as him. However, the supporting actors which not only include Shepard and Arnett but Chi McBride(whose career has been on a downward spiral turn ever since "Boston Public" went off the air),and Dylan Baker are given some zest to their lines, they are totally wasted here and basically they're doing this for just a paycheck to get through the motions and it shows. The dark humor which includes segments of scenes depicting every prison show or prison movie ever made is in here, but the laughs are hardly getting by. Avoid at all costs.
