Warning: Spoilers
A junk movie, build on clichés pretending to be knowing allusions to earlier movies. Three friends meet in their tree-house after the fourth friend's funeral and agree to go on a quest to find D.B. Cooper's treasure. They get messed up by a whitewater river, a bear, gigantic biker pot-growers (better actors in their way than the main three guys), and a renegade sheriff. They get help from two beautiful hippy tree-huggers and Cooper's friend, a hermit in the mountains (Burt Reynolds, who has the best part in the movie). Along the way there is a lot of puerile humour, a lot of jokes and pratfalls, and self-discovery. There are a few very funny lines and a couple of clever situations, but it's largely a waste of time. The main actors are competent but not notable—Seth Green, who can be very funny, is wasted as the little timid small guy. Though the movie purports to take place in the Pacific Northwest—in Oregon—there are palm trees to be seen along the river-banks. The credits reveal it was shot on location in New Zealand.
