This movie was released here in S. Korea before the US. They are filling a void of American movies between the summer and the holiday season. I guess they thought that news wouldn't get back to the US about how awful this movie is. It is still better than my vote for this years worst so far: Blood Rayne--but not by much.
Contestants for the "ultimate martial arts tournament" are invited by a blade weapon that magically flies and hits something near them with the words "DOA." However, the name is a complete misnomer. I was expecting a brutal martial arts competition. However, its announced at the beginning that to win a match, the winner need only "knock out" their competitor. In several of the fighting scenes, there are actually "life meters" that appear over the fighters--just like in the fighting video games.
The movie plays like a soft-corn porn except there's no nudity. Seriously, skip it.
