'The Greatest Game Ever Played' is the story about Francis Ouimet (Shia LaBeouf), one of America's most famous golfers. Ouimet played golf during a time when it was an exclusionary sport. Only the rich were allowed to play and England practically dominated the sport.

Directed by Bill Paxton, this is a good story about an American underdog. When Ouimet won the US Open in 1913, he was the first amateur player to ever win and the second American to ever win. Despite the prejudices of the time, Ouimet goes on to accomplish the unthinkable and spearhead the way for American enthusiasm for golf.

I really liked this movie. It is a true story about Francis Ouimet love for the game and how he triumphed despite the odds. If you loved the movie 'Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius', then you will really love this. Shia LaBeouf (Holes and Constantine) does an excellent job as the young golfer. Elias Koteas (Fallen) is really good as Francis' Father Arthur Ouimet, even though you didn't see him very much. Lastly, check out Josh Flitter, who plays Ouimet's caddy (Eddie Lowery), he's great.
