I grew up watching the Herbie movies and this one was an excellent addition to those silly old movies. If you're a Herbie fan, go see this movie, you'll have fun!
Lindsay Lohan was cute in this movie, and even Michael Keeton was decent as the NASCAR dad. Herbie himself had a lot more tricks due to CGI special effects, but I don't think these were overdone.
Sure, the plot was contrived and even outrageous at times, but so were the old Herbie movies back in the day.
It's a fantasy, so those looking for 'realistic' NASCAR racing should stay home. I mean, it's a movie about a car who comes to life and plays matchmaker and some guys are out there quibbling about NASCAR requirements? Come on.
It was good to see Number 53 back in action!
