Crystal is a terrific beginning to a promising Directing career. I saw this movie and was really impressed with the inventive story telling and subtlety. The script was engaging and well written largely for what it did NOT say. The actors were all good, and the stoner kids were hilarious. The movie is really well cast. Billy Bob was great as always, and really had to reach for something here, it was not phoned in or just doing himself. There was a lot suggested in the story, leaving it to the audience to FIND their own meaning, which I always appreciate. There is no beating you over the head here, but I was completely involved from beginning to end. If you like it spoon-fed stay away, but if you want to be drawn in to an experience this movie is for you.
