Paint by numbers romantic comedy. There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, here that you haven't seen a thousand times before in other films. Bosworth is charismatic, Grace less so (although in fairness his role doesn't give him a lot to work with), Duhamel is beleivable as a shallow actor attempting introspection for the first time. The movies best comedic moments come from Lane and Hayes, who embrace the superficial Hollywood lifestyle and are just fine with it, thank you very much. But in the end, unless you can count to your IQ using only your fingers and toes you will know how this movie ends before it begins. I wonder if it makes me a saddist that I long for an ending where the object of affection in the movie realizes how they REALLY feel too late, and the last scene in the film is he/she tearfully blurring into the background as the camera focuses on the now-happy nice guy/girl walking away to their new, healthy, relationship? You know, like a French film.
