Excellent Thriller
16 January 2002
Yes, an excellent thriller, with Malkovich absolutely brilliant again.

Yet again though Hollywood have plonked in an unnecessary romance storyline, which although doesn't ruin the film, doesn't do it any favours at all.

Like 'Good Will Hunting' & 'Sphere' this has a romantic sub plot which lessens the quality of the film, but also is almost laughable with the age gap.

Yes Clint is cool and an icon for anyone. But I promise you, any girl in her 20's or 30's, may have at the most, thought him attractive a few years ago, but is repulsed by the thought of sleeping with him. The bedroom scene was almost cruel to watch & reminded me of a wildlife documentary, it was that embarassing to view.

Despite that, 'In The Line Of Fire' is a very good film, and one of the few, where every single scene in it, contributes to the storyline & quality.
