BODY SNATCHERS (DIDIER BECU)
7 November 2003
Do we really need a remake of a remake? Of course the question is no as we even don't need (in most cases) remakes, and from the moment it is a remake from a movie (Don Siegel) in where almost nothing has changed, the big question here is a big why... But they made it so we have to live with it. Abel Ferrera isn't exactly the best director ever (the only movie I really liked from him was the Harvey Keitel-movie Bad Luitenant) and he tried to do something special and in the end there is nothing special to see. It's just an alienmovie but it's not scary enough to be a horror, not sci-fi enough to be sci-fi and certainly not thrilling to be a thriller. It's just like grandma tells a story that you heard over and over and still I rated it two stars and a half. Why? Just don't ask me why, I just don't know it.
