While I couldn't remember the title of this movie until I discovered it on this site tonight, this movie memory has stuck with me for all these years. I'm amazed to find others who recall it fondly, as well. I remember it first showing on a Friday night and then replaying as a repeat TV movie sometime in the summer. (I tried to get my father to watch it but couldn't get anyone as juiced about it as I was.) I think it may hold a special place because it represented a transition for me from kids' movies only to more serious flicks. And it was eerie and haunting and because it was before VCR days, I remember being frustrated not being able to see it again right away. It was brought back to me when I saw Sixth Sense recently.
