“People ask me, where are all the great exploitation movies today? The low-budget horror films? They’re on the Lifetime Network!” Shudder’s horror host Joe Bob Briggs once said, and he’s not entirely wrong about that. There’s plenty of entertainment value to be found in Lifetime’s particular brand of thriller, and a new year brings along with it a brand new slate.
Deadline reports on Lifetime’s Quarter 1: 2024 slate of original thrillers this afternoon, which promises fourteen brand new thrillers premiering here in the early months of the year.

Tubi’s October event “Terror on Tubi” comes to a close with one last new movie, though after watching A Party to Die For, you’ll likely feel underwhelmed. Maybe even misled. Of all the Tubi Originals to premiere during this sacred month of scares, Nanea Miyata‘s is the most removed from the horror genre, largely because it’s not a horror movie. The line between a horror movie and a thriller often blurs, all thanks to shared styles, ambiguous rules, and filmmakers who want the best of both worlds. A thriller can be just as scary when placed in the right hands, and a horror movie can center itself around a mystery. In the case of A Party to Die For, this is a thriller that fails to thrill, much less horrify its audience.

The Carringtons make a special appearance on Monday night as they head into Dynasty Season 5. Back-to-back episodes pick up from October’s shocking finale, when media mogul Fallon was gunned down by her evil assistant, Eva (Kara Royster). Now it’s touch and go at the hospital as Carrington patriarch Blake (Grant Show) waits by his daughter’s bedside. “We get some great moments where he talks about how proud he is of her and how he can’t lose her,” says showrunner Josh Reims. “It’s a vulnerable side of Blake that we never really see.” That cliffhanger and the plot by jealous brother-in-law Beto (Geovanni Gopradi) to assassinate Blake will soon be wrapped up “in one way or another,” Reims promises. In the Christmassy second hour, “we do things we don’t normally do,” Reims notes, but there’s still drama. Alexis (Elaine Hendrix) is set to spend the holidays behind bars,...

The CW made the right choice in going the full-night event route with Dynasty Season 4 Episode 20 and Dynasty Season 4 Episode 21.
The first hour lacked drama, but it was more of a set-up for the truly epic second hour that has turned the entire series on its head.
Dynasty works best when the champagne and drama are flowing, and I have no idea what to expect on Dynasty Season 4 Episode 22 -- the season finale -- due to what happened.
Eva reading the love book with pictures of her and Liam as she sang "here comes the bride" was the perfect way to reveal her true intentions.
If you watch Dynasty online, you know Kara Royster's villainous character has been manipulating both Fallon and Liam throughout the second half of the season, and there's no telling what she will get up to next.
She wants Liam to herself, and if that final scene is any indication,...

Haley Lu Richardson in ‘Unpregnant’ Trailer Gives a Buddy Comedy Spin on Teen Abortion Drama (Video)
Though there’s already a very serious looking drama about teen abortion called “Never Rarely Sometimes Always” that opened this year, the first trailer for the new film “Unpregnant” starring Haley Lu Richardson gives a road trip, buddy comedy spin on the same story.
Richardson stars alongside Barbie Ferreira in a comedy coming to HBO Max in which Richardson plays a straight-a student and popular kids who enlists her more rebellious, former best friend (Ferreira) to get an abortion over 1,000 miles in New Mexico. Of course in this story, they end up on the run from the cops, in a stolen Trans-Am and even trying to jump aboard a moving train on their trip to get the procedure done.
“There’s an Albuquerque in Missouri? The law won’t let me get one without my parents knowing,” Richardson says in the trailer. “It’s my life, it’s my choice.

HBO Max is continuing to round out its original film programming, adding a fresh new comedy from “Valley Girl” remake filmmaker Rachel Lee Goldenberg and rising stars Haley Lu Richardson and Barbie Ferreira to its upcoming slate. “Unpregnant” puts a humorous spin on a tough, timely topic, but promises to do it with a generous dash of humor. The film’s first trailer offers a funny first look at a fresh take on the young adult novel of the same name, written by authors Jenni Hendriks (“How I Met Your Mother”) and Ted Caplan (music editor for “The Hate U Give” and “The Greatest Showman”).
The film follows Richardson’s Veronica, a Missouri teen who is shocked to discover she is pregnant, and who sets off on a road trip with her former best pal Bailey (Ferreira) in hopes of securing an abortion so that she can continue to pursue her Ivy League college dreams.

God Friended Me has been canceled by CBS.
It's sad, but it's true.
The two-hour series finale is slated to air Sunday, April 26, and we're not prepared to say goodbye.
The official trailer teases some high-stakes moments that would make many people believe this is a planned conclusion.
Given the way the cast has reacted to the news, it certainly seems like these final two episodes were constructed to set up a potential third season.
What we can tell from the clip is that Cory allowed the God Account to be destroyed thanks to the virus, meaning that the gang has just one friend suggestion remaining.
On a show filled with happy moments, it's hard to imagine the account not being restored in some capacity.
Then again, a wild development could have been planned to shake the show up for a potential third season.
