A pair of con artists recruit their longtime mentor to "play" God in order to scam a grieving billionaire. "Elevated by Alan Tudyk and Michael McKean, Playing God overcomes its problematic concept to deliver more than thoughts and prayers." Doesn't do too bad on RT. MAYBE?

Library has Seasons 1-5. DO WE NEED TO CHECK THIS OUT? CBS. Dr. Jason Bull (Michael Weatherly) runs a trial consulting company to help analyze juries in this drama series based on Dr. Phil's career before he became a daytime talk-show host. It's annoying and, if studied too closely, nonsensical, pandering to DiNozzo fans by making Dr. Bull an even cooler and quippier character, with an overload of smug swagger. Brilliant, brash, and charming, Dr. Bull is the ultimate puppet master as he combines psychology, human intuition, and high-tech data to learn what makes jurors, attorneys, witnesses, and the accused tick. Not great RT: Weatherly's performance is top-notch, but not enough to save a show that relies too heavily on a well-worn series of legal show tropes and an off-putting premise.

Lucy Standbridge (Aubrey Plaza) has inherited her father's publishing house, and the ambitious would-be editor has nearly sunk it with failing titles. She discovers she is owed a book by Harris Shaw (Michael Caine), a reclusive, cantankerous, booze-addled author who originally put the company on the map decades earlier. "A clumsy effort at comedic melodrama that attempts to tug the heartstrings in a manipulative and misguided manner." Bad ratings from all on RT.

HAD TO REMOVE. ASK JERRY ABOUT THIS. Haunted by his mysterious past, a devoted high school football coach leads a scrawny team of orphans to the state championship during the Great Depression and inspires a broken nation along the way.
