The most important thing to realize is this is not a true books adaptation. These books cannot be adapted to a TV screen. You cannot bring hundreds of characters into a TV show. The cost would be unreal and the show would stop before it even started.
That being said, this is a truly remarkable piece of work. It brings the beauty of Mr. Jordan's work into different Light. Many casts are spot on and the actors are breathing the life into the characters I could only imagine before.
Story is roughly following the books, but it's changed to better fit the modern era. Some changes are good, others less so, but overall it's more or less the epic saga we read about all those years ago.
