Blubberella (2011)
5/10
So cheesy it's fun...
17 December 2023
I've actually had this 2011 movie lying around for many, many years, and never did get around to watching it before now in 2023. I always put off watching it, as there was always something else to watch, and the movie's title just was screaming low budget.

However, I didn't know who was in the movie, and had I known that, I would definitely have sat down to watch the movie way earlier than 2023. I mean, with the likes of Brendan Fletcher, Michael Paré and Clint Howard on the cast list, then you should have some sort of idea what to expect from the movie.

And I did not know that it was Uwe Boll who had directed the movie. And had I known that, of course I would have watched the movie far earlier.

The storyline in "Blubberella", as written by Uwe Boll, Michael Christopher, Lindsay Hollister and Willam Belli, was actually a funny and oddly enjoyable and bizarre one, as you would indeed expect from Uwe Boll. And that works well in favor of the movie.

The acting performances in the movie were actually fair enough. And I have to say that it was definitely nice to see Brendan Fletcher in this movie. And while I am not familiar with Lindsay Hollister, I will say that she carried the movie quite well. And the role that director Uwe Boll portrayed in the movie was just a stroke of genius for him to portray.

Visually then "Blubberella" was actually good. The props and costumes were quite nice, and it definitely looked like something from World War II. And I have to admit that I was surprised with that in a movie such as this.

If you enjoy off-beat movies, and perhaps also enjoy Uwe Boll movies, then you definitely have to sit down and watch the 2011 movie "Blubberella". "Blubberella" is exactly the kind of politically incorrect stuff that you would expect from Uwe Boll.

My rating of "Blubberella" lands on a five out of ten stars.
