Review of Extremity

Extremity (2018)

I don't know if I should be surprised but I am a little bit sad, that the director does not get enough credit for the work he does. Now he's not the Alfred Hitchcock of horror or whatever else name you may conjur up. But he found a niche: psychological horror. Horror that is able to get into your skin, that can make you feel uncomfortable. Like this one on display here.

To get inside ones mind, to be completely emerged and to understand what our main character has to go through is tough. To boil it down to "jump scares" and other simplistic tricks would be a disservice of the movie, the director and the overall intentions here. Yes this may be flawed, yes tastes differ and you still may not like it or the characters involved. That doesn't change the fact that this is done with precision, offers some very fine acting and charisma display, that can make this an interesting watch. Not an easy one (not for the squeamish then), but an interesting one!
