Luther: Episode #5.4 (2019)
Have we all been watching the same show?
I must admit: the announcement for the 5th season got me hyped, as i was hoping for a change from the utter ridiculousness of the 4th season. However, the 5th season of Luther proved to be another disappointment. Even though Alice is my favorite character, i thought her return for the season was actually quite unnecessary. Ruth Wilson portrays a brilliant, dexterous and astute character but Alice's involvement in the storyline made her brilliance fade. It was almost as if i was watching another person: instead of entertaining and gut-wrenching, Alice was annoying and pestering.
On the other hand, we were introduced to Halliday in the beginning of the season. She seemed promising: she was clever, adept and proved to be a great companion for DCI Luther. But what does the show do? With Alice coming out of nowhere (I really don't understand how she's able to locate luther everytime), halliday is killed in the blink of an eye.
In addition, George Cornelius was possibly the LEAST character that deserved attention in the series. Benny's death was also unexpected; it was almost as if the show was trying to kill off as many characters as it could to distract the viewers from the plot mess.
Oh, and i forgot! Jeremy. His gory murders were truly disturbing, and he seemed like a great villain for the season. However, with luther paying attention to cornelius and alice his character is given a ridiculous ending.
Please, do not give Luther another season. It seems as if it's constantly getting worse. I wish the show had the marvelousness of its first and second season.
American Horror Story: Could It Be... Satan? (2018)
Unfolding impressively
I was quite confused whether the narrative of the 8th season was going to play out nicely, but it surely exceeded my expectations. In the beginning, i thought the storyline was going to focus solely on the lives of outpost3's "inhabitants" and that, in my opinion, was going to be disastrous and dull. Instead, this episode presents quite remarkable references and connections to previous seasons, while also giving some explanations for the viewers who were left with plot holes in preceding episodes. (of course there are a lot of unanswered questions but i already see where this is going).
American Horror Story: The End (2018)
What a treat!
I was really taken aback by this episode. The last 2 seasons of AHS have been rather mediocre but this one rasied the bar up. It was gritty, creepy, and contained a fair amount of humor too! The new narrative seems too have a great perspective and I'm tremendously excited to see how the crossover will play out.
Dynasty: I Hardly Recognized You (2017)
Pretty good
I believe Fallon was supposed to be a likeable and badass character, but so far she has just been a spoiled br*t and shown severe lack of judgement. She's so full of herself, vain, and assumes she's entitled to being COO just because she's her father's daughter. That briefly describes a personality most of us hate, and personally Fallon is a hateable character. She's annoying, boring, and possibly has every bad characteristic of a 20 something year old. Other than my despise for Fallon, the show itself is good. It's a superb remake, with new additions and proper changes in the cast. I mean Sam is now a guy, and a lot of african american actors have chief roles. The show builds up tension, drama, and leaves mysteries to unravel in later episodes. It's full of diverse characters and it leaves viewers wanting more and more.
Insatiable: Pilot (2018)
Ridiculous but watchable
Many things during this episode & the second one didn't really make sense. We didn't get to see Patty's utter transformation and in just 3 months she seemed to have lost weight drastically; just like that, without giving a supporting and reliable backstory, merely because the weight loss was essential for the narrative to develop and create a difference from other tv shows regarding teen comedy-drama. Also, is Bob the male who does everything in town? He's a lawyer, beauty pageant "advisor" and charity organiser. There are other utterly ridiculous scenes that seem like bloopers with really bad acting. However, the good thing about Insatiable is the fact that it's highly entertaining and can easily take away your free time.
Dark: Geheimnisse (2017)
Twin Peaks meets Stranger Things?
I want to make known that I've only watched the first episode so far:
Watching this episode i felt like i was having a deja vu; one where the worlds of twin peaks and stranger things collide. Common settings and storylines, the same visuals; same psychological feeling when watching the show. However, there's no denying that Dark doesn't lack authenticity and originality. Although inspired by the two shows mentioned before, i feel like all the secrets and narratives that are going to unfold soon will make Dark a masterpiece of its own.
Santa Clarita Diet (2017)
Silly & entertaining
It's obvious that this show is tremendously unrealistic; (just like Scream Queens and a few other shows that are crossing my mind right now) but that's what's the best part about it. Watching Santa Clarita Diet i felt ridiculous, silly, but highly entertained. Many scenes look more like bloopers than an actual tv show, and frankly I don't know how to feel about it. Sometimes i love it; sometimes i hate it. The acting is done regarding the subject of the show and its genres, although I believe they could have managed to pull off something much greater. All in all, I honestly can't express precisely how i feel about this show. Sometimes it's just too bland and dull though.
Person of Interest: The Day the World Went Away (2016)
The death of a legend
I believe the highlight of this episode was, obviously, Root's death. I thought it deserved more attention as it was kind of unexpected, and not a really suitable way to say goodbye to her character; but however she died protecting harold. Couldn't have happened otherwise. Root was an exceptionally unique character, and her transformation from villain to "superhero" was truly amusing. She will always be my favorite character from a tv show EVER.
Westworld: Kiksuya (2018)
Splendid
I believe many people fail to see the beauty in this episode. Unique storytelling, magnificent writing and a tremendously well crafted episode. Episodes of this kind have failed to impress audiences in other tv shows (When i say "episodes of this kind" i mean ones that take a break from the main narrative and introduce us to the lives and past of a recurring and not so relevant character). However, Kiksuya has proved itself worthy of an award. I was so impressed; I would have never thought the origin of THE MAZE was related to the main character of this episode.
Top-notch tv. Well done.
Big Little Lies: You Get What You Need (2017)
No other episode of a TV Show has ever given me the excitement that this episode did.
I loved this episode. Oh god, where do I start? First of all, i was excited since the beginning of the episode because I knew that finally all the pieces would come together giving explanation to the two most important questions of the show: "Who died?" & "Who's the killer?" Secondly, even though this episode was probably predictable, I still really like it, because the show producers and writers stuck to their original idea and didn't change anything just to "please" the viewers. What made this finale amazing was also the MAGNIFICENT acting. My two favorite were Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman. Finally, the most amazing scene of this show is the one where all the women unite together to try and stop Perry, with Bonnie coming as a complete surprise to throw him off. I was thrilled the WHOLE time, and at times I felt like I couldn't breathe from the excitement. This episode was truly amazing, and I don't think a second season would be suitable for this show, because the 3 ending minutes were satisfying. I wish I could give this episode a higher score than 10, it truly deserves it.
How to Get Away with Murder: Wes (2017)
Great!
This episode felt like season's 2 finale, not really SHOCKING, but pretty good and made a good story. I understand the viewers were probably expecting a shocking reveal of the murderer and that it would be one of the Keating 4 (Connor, Michaela,Laurel,Asher), but the reveal that Laurel's Dad did it was good too. First of all, no one could have really guessed he had anything to do with it. It came as a surprise, but i agree, not a ''shocking'' surprise, as the viewers were expecting something GREAT. However, this reveal is AMAZING because: We are always used to the small world of the TV show, just Annalise and her ''team'', the courtroom and her clients. With Laurel's dad being the killer, in the next season, we get out of this small world, and get into a bigger one. As we know, Laurel's dad is a huge businessman and his involvement in Wes' murder will make a great story line for season 4 which will hopefully answer questions. I'm excited for season 4, and I know it's going to be GREAT. The writers have made a great job on keeping the show on its feet, but what's really sad is that the show doesn't really get enough attention and it's underrated. I mean come on! Isn't it amazing?
How to Get Away with Murder: What Did We Do? (2015)
Oh my god...
This is honestly one of the best episodes I've ever watched. Every second was amazing, full of plot twists and huge shocks. Everything was perfect. The acting was 10+, with Viola Davis topping, and then all the other characters, including the small roles. The soundtrack was amazing, it gave a huge thrill to the viewers, and it personally became one of my new favorite songs. This episode was also full of shocks, which left me breathless. The last minute of the episode was CRAZY!! You have to watch it.How to get away with murder is surely one of the best TV shows from 2010s for me, and i hope they keep making more new seasons. Can't wait to see what's next!!
Pretty Little Liars: Game Over, Charles (2015)
Terrible.
This was the worst episode of Pretty Little Liars. I've been a HUGE fan of the show since it started. Even though I was starting to find it a little annoying, I thought the best part was yet to come and the A reveal was going to be the best part. The promos were very exciting, but bloody hell! The episode was TERRIBLE!
How could Cece be A/Charles? Here are the major plot holes: -Cece has appeared in only around 12 episodes, and her explanation for tormenting the girls was just for fun and because Mona told her that they were happy without Alison? -In a scene where Toby and Alison are in Toby's room, Marion (Toby's mom) appears there, and yet when Bethany pushes her in Radley, Charles is around 12 years old. That would make Alison and Toby like 4 years old at the time Marion was in Radley. -Also, in the dollhouse, when Spencer is in the room with Charles, Charles is clearly taller than Spencer. Meanwhile, in previous episode, I've slightly noticed Cece being MUCH SHORTER than Spencer. -It's explained that Cece was allowed out of Radley to attend UPenn. What's not explained is how she would've had a roommate at UPenn(her roommate was introduced in season 4), even though she was clearly still living at Radley while taking classes. On this same note, how is it that on "that night," she is described as escaping from Radley, when she clearly had in-and-out privileges? -Remember that Wren got Cece a visitor's pass for Radley to visit Mona? Why would Cece need that if she was a patient there? -When Mrs.D dies,Ali gets a video message with an accompanying text that reads: "I buried your mom the same way I watched her bury you. A." So if A is CeCe, and CeCe loved both her mom and Ali a whole lot, why would she have taken this video and then sent it to her little sister? - Lesli Stone : Wouldn't Lesli have known CeCe at some point while at Radley? Why didn't she ever mention that to Mona or the Liars when she was trying to defend herself as an A suspect? - Where did CeCe get her money to make all these traps and build a dollhouse for the girls?
Now let's talk about Sara Harvey being red coat/black widow. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT? Sara was just introduced in season 6 (She was mentioned in season 4 but introduced in 6). Why would Sara want to help Cece torment some girls she DIDN'T EVEN KNOW? Also, we still don't even know how she met CeCe, we don't know if she was forced to work with her, and if she is connected to anyone else on the show.
Conclusion: The writers could have done a way better job.
