Celebrity Squares (2023– )

Such an Annoying Host - But comfy chairs
15 December 2023
This popped up on my feed so I decided to give it a whirl. I was surprised at the celebrities in the squares and was looking forward to some fun questions. But--the host is so truly obnoxiously annoying that I could not get past the first 5 minutes. He sounds like a character out of an animated cartoon show. I suspect his street laguage is an act, which in itself is ok,but...I think his regular voice would be a better fit. Also, I know the celebrities get the answers and also get some funny lines to say, yet these are too blatantly staged. One thing I DO like-the comfy chairs they give the celebrities to lounge in. That is a new idea and it works. I would say--watch it and see if you can stomach the ost. If you cam, it might be a fun watch.

This is NOT Christams movie you are looking for
5 December 2023
The trailer was somehwat cute, and fun. I have liked Eddie Murphy in many projects over the years, including Coming 2 America. (after watiching it again, I saw some more fun elements). This project is a disappointment. I really tried to make it through, but had to fast forward to the dismal, predictable ending. Hey, I know that holiday movies have happy conclusions, so that was not the main challenge. The main challeges included- poor script, miscast actors, terrible cgi and Eddie Murphy himself. I like Traci Ellen Ross, however, she is wasted here. Maybe she should have been the lead istead. No, it is simply a poor project idea, with poor execution, start to finish. Skip it.

Almost Paradise is a fun watch
5 October 2023
When I heard about Almost Paradise, I admit I watched it mainly because of the creator, Dean Devlin. Once I saw the first episode, I relaxed into the fun.

I really appreciate the location. Seeing all of the wonder of the locale is super nice and I am learning more with each episode. Christian Kane is more than a hoot and takes right into his role--again. There are many new faces- new to me, that is--and I enjoy each one. Almost Paradise is one of those rare shows that brings me to a new place without knocking me over the head. Everything is natural- yet new and exciting. The storyline and plots are fast moving fun.

I am so happy I took a chance on a new show, that is now solidly on my watch list!

Used To a Be Better Football Show
2 October 2023
I used to enjoy Football Night In America. I liked the highlights of the day's games along with some insight from football experts like Tony Dunjy. Now it is a mere shadow of what it was. More commercials than anything else, and lots of sideline jabber that sounds exactly the same. I miss seeing former players do interviews on the sidelines. I am a woman who loves to hear what former players have to say. I want lots of highights. I want to see things that happened during the games that I did not see. I want to hear what each game means in comparison to other games. Not just the scoring plays. Show me the inside of the NFL.

Miami Vice: Made for Each Other (1985)
Season 1, Episode 18
9/10
One of my favorite episodes!
2 July 2023
A show can sometimes get stale, so freshening it up with something different is a welcome change. This was a welcomed change up. I really had fun watching the secondary characters take center stage. I read somewhere that Philip Michael Thomas was injurd, and that is one reason he is in this episode very little. But he isn't missed. Ample Annie is a great little added character. The final scene where she walks down the aisle is so much fun! Did I miss Don Johnson? Not really. I knew he would be back in the next episode.

Watching the dump truck scene. And Izzy. Lots of laughs there. If you want a change up of a cool, fun, Miami Vice episode. Give this one a try.

This series is for NO ONE with any brain cells they wish to keep
16 April 2023
I adore Richard Armitage's acting. This series popped up on Netflix and I started it right away. It is finishing as I type this.

What a waste of talent. I even disliked Richard's acting in this role. No on screen chemistry. I cared not what happened to anyone here. I wished there was a voice off the screen yelling "cut!". "This is crap. I am not doing this."

The female protagonist is totally unlikable. Totally. Unlikable. No internal substance. Nothing.

The son was without charm.

They made the wife as clueless as possible. She has been married to this man and cannot tell that he has checked out.

The only slightly interesting role, was the female best friend.

Oh-- the intimate scenes were laughable at best. I cannot believe I actually fast forwarded through them. Yes. I skipped the supposed 'juicy' parts. Not compelling. They were boring.

I could find nothing to recommend this to ...anyone. Ever.

I did not care about the ending. I only looked forward to the time when it would end. I was laughing by that time. Ridiculous.

I am going to go watch North and South again. Now that is a wonderful use of Richard's considerable acting skills.

Not. This. Mess.

I want More of the Amazing Show!
18 March 2023
I started watching this show at the recommendation of some others who were watchig a similar show featuring celebrities. How had I missed this on the first airing? I wish there were more episodes. In the one, 'Man in the Arena' --it was stunning in its simplicity and heart. #11 reciting the creed brought me to real tears. Unexpected ones. His story was...heartrending. I applaud each participant, each leader instructor and anyone else associated with the show.

I want more. Everyone who sees this show wants more. Alas, it looks like the History Channel gave up on it. Why? The participants never gave up. Neither have we. We want more!

Colorful, loud mess. No Reason for this
17 December 2022
I adore the animated Disney version. This was just a mess of colors snd jumping around...just because they could do it. There were some imaginative costumes...like the Beast. It reminded me of The Lion King costumes. But, there was little continuity between scenes and numbers. Too much lip synch and not enough ...or any live singing. There is so much to love about the original movie. I would have liked it better as a fully staged play. Live singing and such. I had to fast forward. Then I went and watched the animated version instead. It was a delight. I will not watch this version again, and will wipe it from my memory.

Kept Falling Asleep...
24 August 2022
I was looking forward to seeing what they said would be the final Jurassic series movie ever. Luckily, I waited to watch this at home. I kept falling asleep. During a Jurassic Park giant dinosaur movie. I would wake myself up, run it back to where I thought I had seen it and then...zzz... again, and again. Fianlly I would up to see Sam Neil and Ellie kissing. I thought that was cute and then..zzz... No more tries.

A brght star in the sci fi universe!
18 August 2022
I admit I was NOT a fan of Seth McFarlane's other shows. But I went to a panel at San Diego Comic Con before the show began, and I was sold. After watching the first season, I was hooked. The Orville has grown as a mature show, filled with laughs, serious matters and so much more. The Isaac and Claire relationship is a wonderful addition. Now I learned that Seth had the entire arc planned from the beginning. I like and admire that. I like that he has kept to his path. I have tired from 'dark' sci fi and The Orville is largely bright, open and expansive. After watching the season 3 finale, I want to see so much more. I have settled back in my chair and am ready for more! Let's get a season 4 and more!

Watch only if you want to lose brain cells
18 August 2022
I watched 2 episodes of this because I was inerested in the live concept. Another angle for judge shows that I kind of like watching. I was ready for something new. This show is more than a mess. It is a crime against the true court system. The live court 'sets' seem like they have been built in a garage or aircraft hangar. No one gets to sit down to watch the drama. Who are these judges? If they are examples of judges in our regular court system...wow. Stay out of the court system folks! And the two judges in the studio seem to have to disagree on everything. Especially the female, who so far only has neon pink in her wardrobe. I like pink, but... Yikes! The cases seem fake, fake, fake...

More focus on the show
12 June 2022
Would have liked to see much more about the pieces that had other dancers featured. This seemed too focused on Tiler. She has a nice smile, yet it becsme obnoxious withe all of the zooming in on her grin. Appreciated the dancers!

Some Truly Fun Moments
13 May 2022
Though we have seen this type of movie many times already, I was surprised to laugh out loud several times. Rebel Wilson is true to her style. The roller coaster emotional ride of high school is trecherous. The ending is all love and happiness. Give it a whirl!

Overproduced chostic mess. There is talent though
22 March 2022
There are so many lights flashing, noises crashing, people screaming! The talent has litlle opportunity to shine on its own. Some singers are clearly not singing live! Snoop Dog and his phony hype...argh. Shame. I want to see the talent of the singers, not the production and lighting.

Annoying host, annoying contestants, lovely cakes!
18 March 2022
What a shame. I love good baking shows. The host screams all the time. He tries too hard to be funny and clever, yet he is not. Complete annoying failure. His voice grates on my poor nerves. The producers over dress the contestants to the point that they become like cartoon characters and not real people. They are engaging, and I want to see more of them as real people. Maybe this show will settle down some. I can only hope. The artistry is amazing!

Fun show, bring it back!
4 March 2022
This was a fun, interesting look at the more mature woman who has a chance at a modeling career. I liked the differences in ages and experience. Motivation was cool to see, too. I even think the age could be starting over the age of fifty!

Laughbly bad film. Really bad. Too bad
16 February 2022
Although I was happy to see Janet Hubert - the actress who was the original Aunt Viv on The Fresh Prince of Belair...that was about it. I was looking forward to a fresh take on the stalker friend plot, but there was nothing new to see. I stayed to the finish, and found myself laughing out loud. So if you want to see unintentional comedy...go for it!

If You Loved Lucy...stay away from this Alien potrayal
21 December 2021
I am in a dilemma. Now I have to decide which movie is the worst. The Cat in the Hat (Mike Meyers drivel), Cats (the stuff of nightmares)...or this, Being the Ricardos. Kidman seems frozen in an iceblock. No expression, stiff movements, speech unbearably choppy. Completey, utterly frozen. Sigh. And soooo...

Sub zero wins!

Dull movie...really dull. Zzzzzzz
18 December 2021
I really like a good android versus humans story. This is not one of them. The beginning is dull, the middle is dull, the ending is almost laughably silly. Yes, go watch The Terminator again. I am going to do just that. I won't be back.

Not a good movie...that is all
31 October 2021
Not much to write about Hypnosis. Thought it might be decent. I have liked Jason O'Mara in other projects. Not this one. Negative fun. Move on to something really fun like...Baking Impossible! That is a show where engineers and bakers are teamed up to create edible treats that also contain engineering elements such as robotics. Now that is a super fun show!

Michael Bay Knows how to rock the Transformers!
28 October 2021
My son, daugher and I saw Transformers in the theater as soon as it opened. It was a dream come true...especially for my son. He grew up with the toys and had such fun with his friends in transforming contests. The movie was fab, with Shia doing wonderful comic acting. The magical voice of Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime...YES! Watch it at least yearly!

I did not know this was a Woody Allen film going in...
28 October 2021
I have to pat myself on the back. I was browsing for things to watch on Peacock, saw this, and began to watch. After a couple of minutes, I got a funny feeling...as if I had seen this film before. But I could not have. What was it? Man, I thought, this feels like a Woody Allen film. Filled with smarty, self important quips. I stopped watching and did some research. Sure enough. Woody Alllen. I laughed out loud. His films are all the same, whether the main actors are 15 or 75 years old. The males are always him. His casts are familiar in look and style. (wink, wink). The best thing is the New York City background. I fled from this film before I got sucked down the Woody rabbit hole. Ah...safe!

The 4400 pilot - Scifi for Nitwits
26 October 2021
Weak, weak, weak. So they hit us with the checklist right away.

There is so much that is sad about this pitiful pilot. Actors? Where? I see some wanna be actors who have a lot of training to do.

Plot? Good grief, Charlie Brown. The storylines are mere whispers of what they could have been.

I am not going to waste anymore of my precious lifetime writing about this sad excuse for a scifi series. This version of the 4400 is a Nitwit show.
