The Sopranos (1999)
David Chase created a monster
I've watched a lot of series - most of them quite good. And then I made the mistake of turning on The Sopranos. Literally the entire series took me on an unforgettable journey full of tears and laughter, and at the end it brutally left me at the mercy of other series.
I saw The Godfather dozens of times and believed in it as if I was literally watching someone's life. While watching The Sopranos, I was literally an observer of Tony's life and his two families - the real one and the one "he chose". And unfortunately, I fell in love with both of these families, and now all I have left is an emptiness from them. Tony became more and more depressed from season to season and you could feel it while watching the series. It's amazing that you can describe someone's suffering so well and at the same time show that there are also better moments of happiness in this suffering. The last season absolutely destroyed me as a viewer and me as a person who had been living with this image of The Godfather for all these years - a picture full of family happiness, money, women, fast cars and those mythical gangster rules that in The Sopranos turn out to be just a cheap movie slogan.
In some time I will come back to this series for even more suffering, motivated by the rubbish series that are currently shown on TV.
Absolutely the best series I have ever seen.
Your Place or Mine (2023)
Naive warm mush that I love
I love movies like this one. This is a very typical romantic movie. He loves her, she loves him, but neither understands their feelings until the right moment comes. Movies like this are either loved or hated - they're extreme, and that's why I love them.
The acting is at the highest level, the shots are very nice and aesthetic, and the people are beautiful and smooth. It's been a long time since I've seen such a warm, naive picture - that's what I missed.
If you like watching romantic movies, you don't get shivers from the amount of sugar on the screen, then turn on this movie and check if you just needed such a form of relaxation. I fell in love with this movie and I want more.
Dawson's Creek (1998)
DAAAAAASON!
Dawson, I f@cking hate you! This character is so irritating :( however, the rest of the show is fine - 8/10. A typical teen show about teenagers. Nothing more, nothing less. Personally, I really appreciate the opportunity to see Katie Holmes beginnings. However, it would be nice if Dawson's character had been written a little better.
Skins (2007)
First two seasons 10/10
The first two seasons of the series are a real masterpiece. It's a pity that the cast changes every two seasons, because each new one after the sensational first two seasons is only worse.
Remember Me (2010)
Masterpiece
Contrary to appearances, this isn't a romantic movie for teenagers, even though Pattinson appears in it. A brilliant movie from start to finish.
Altered Carbon (2018)
The first season is a masterpiece
An absolutely brilliant series, as long as we limit ourselves to watching it to one season.
What We Do in the Shadows (2019)
The funniest series in a long time!
Pure humor. It's been a long time since I had so much fun watching a series.
How to Get Away with Murder (2014)
A series that slowly eats its tail
The first season is 10/10. Each subsequent one was only worse. At some point, you don't know what's going on in it.
Contratiempo (2016)
Brain lobotomy
A film starring Mario Casas - the idol of teenagers who dream of love as in "Tres metros sobre el cielo". And it's such a good role that I'll risk saying it's one of the best Spanish-language films I've ever seen.
Riverdale (2017)
Lost potential
The first season was amazing. Each subsequent episode was like a small suprise - it was so good to watch the actions of the main characters. Unfortunately, in later seasons they went in some absurdly stupid direction, losing all their potential. Currently, it is a series that cannot be watched.
The Dark Knight (2008)
The best Batman in the history of cinema
The movie is a complete work with an amazing atmosphere and storyline. Quite simply - the best Batman in the history of cinema.
The Godfather (1972)
Best movie ever
It is impossible to describe in words how good this work is. Incredible atmosphere, great dialogues and believable characters - it all adds up to the best movie ever.
