Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities: Graveyard Rats (2022)
Common story with unique twist
I believe the reason there aren't many underground, claustrophobic horrors such as this is not only is it insanely difficult to film, it's likely hard to find quality actors to willingly put themselves through this. I found it done with a style seemingly loose, but entirely international with every sequence. Meant more to be a symbol of the fears we didn't know we had than a literal story. With an ending that stuck in my head for days. As soon Masson heads down the hole after the body, he's diving in his own horrors of claustrophobia (as he mentioned in the beginning) of which part of him knew he may never come back. If physically, never again mentally. Much commendation to the director willing to take risks that some don't think paid off, but I found to be the most mentally unsettling in years.
Frasier: Author, Author (1994)
So well constructed
Extremely well written episode. Just far enough in the season to show the sibling similarities as well as they differ. Plus the addition of Mako as the publisher is perfect. Especially to those of us who were fans of uncle Iroh. Anybody who's ever tried to have a writing partner knows that it's the little differences that kill the momentum. Love this show and episode.
The Cabin with Bert Kreischer: No Pain, No Gain (2020)
Funny episode
Good episode but not enough big jay. Big jay may be one of the sharpest comedians in the game and this episode doesn't spotlight his abilities like it should.
