Love Actually (2003)
Can I have my money back.???
I saw this movie yesterday, and considered it an almost total waste of time and money and effort.
Apart from, perhaps five minutes ,it was boring in the extreme.
The language and nudity made it unsuitable for children, but the plot (what plot ?) was unsuitable for adults.
Moulin Rouge! (2001)
Much too artistic and noisy for my Wife and me.
We saw this movie this evening, but walked out after an hour. The opening scene certainly portrayed the decadence of the late nineteenth century Paris, but was too convoluted and noisy to be pleasant. The story line ( if there was one ) was disclosed in the first five minutes.Like many others I was bored almost to tears. It was certainly artistic, but I prefer my art on a wall. Sorry, not for me.
Captain Corelli's Mandolin (2001)
An enjoyable two hours on a Greek Island
After all the adverse comments by "the experts" I did not expect to enjoy the movie. In fact it was thoroughly enjoyable. Not as good as the book, but neither was gone with the wind. It was not a history lesson as was the book.I thought it was great entertainment and I was never bored, and there was NO BAD LANGUAGE.
Bridget Jones's Diary (2001)
I want my money back
I anticipated a sensitive amusing movie. What did I get. A litany of foul language. The "F" word used quite unnecessarily and repeatedly. Why could the characters not be endowed with a more rounded vocabulary. The story was non existent, and the ending obvious from the first frame. Where are the slick comedies of yesteryear ?
Hell's Angels (1930)
An early epic film, that enthralled the audiences of the day.
I saw this film (movie) in about 1933 and still remember every scene. Without the use of bad language it conveyed the fear, excitement, and gallantry of the time. The German evil was perhaps overplayed, but it was made just a very few years after the War. The flying scenes were dramatic and at least as effective as any made in recent years.
Is it possible to obtain a copy?if so where.
