Very interesting and so "now"

I'm finding this series very interesting and certainly eye opening.

Nice to see a high quality Australian drama which isn't cringeworthy and with fresh talent.

Great Australian Drama
jennyallan11118 August 2019
Well acted, interesting storyline. Such a topical subject. To see the blatent sexism that exists in this school is frightening. This explains in detail why we need to be so carefull of sharing sexually explicit pics. Would be beneficial for teenagers to see. Well worth a look.

So uncomfortable, but so "necessary"
richard-971-5748401 September 2019
Wow, such an uncomfortable topic. You can see the damage that will come. And it keeps coming. And the injustices. But so well told, beautifully acted by the young cast. And, I'm no film critic, but the whole production, the atmosphere was excellent.

Educational TV series about Sexting
leoalexanderscott9 August 2019
Australian short television drama about the consequences of sexting. What can be a bit of harmless fun between two individuals can backfire and cause all sorts of dilema for those involved, and other people, now and into the future. There is a bit of stereotyping in the written script, but this actually highlights the understanding of generation gaps, religious or ethnic harm caused by, and reaction by some subcultures. I would recommend this series as honest educational resource to watch at same time with your adolescence children at the start of highschool (at home together), as an excellent tool regarding online participation.

Timely Classic
patrickbegorra6 August 2019
A timely classic that is thought-provoking and much needed for all: students, parents and teachers. A rare gem that makes for the very best drama series in 2019. A beautifully written, wonderfully crafted show that will hunt your beliefs and allow you the chance to question your own ideas. The Hunting will force you to take a closer look and share a constructive conversation with fellow viewers. An absolute must. Highly recommended.

The most power educational movie ever produced
virtualmechanicdgb25 August 2019
The the writer and producer you have made such a powerful message to all teenagers and parents to be aware of how a situation can make a twist and effect a persons life forever. This to me is a vital media production for any child entering secondary education Most of all this strong message is for males to respect females within the cyber network Why this movie is not advertised more strongly is wrong This movie has the potential to reduce the potential for female suicide and male suicide This series is so powerful and so vitality important to understand the consequences of our actions, and how we still see and unbalanced set of rules.

Authentic female characters
mailcathi22 August 2019
Did not expect to like this, I thought at best it would be tough going at worst moralising. It was actually fast paced with relatable characters. Highly recommend it.

Not good
michaelrthomson3 August 2019
Asher is not enough to save this dull diatribe on youth, culture, technology and poor decisions. The majority of the millennials are as wooden as a clothes hanger and the pacing is just poor. I don't think this is at all a new story, maybe teenagers will find it interesting but even they probably look for some quality in their viewing decisions (except anything kardashian related obviously). It just reminds of all the bad elements of high school but with more pc leanings.

Enthralling Drama
caeevans16 August 2019
I think this is a must see for any parent. Is there some stereotyping, sure, but it's used to enhance the story and explore the many facets of the topic. I've just watched E3 and cannot wait to watch the final episode. That said, I thought the actions of the supposedly smart teenage protagonists in E3 did stretch reality.

Very much enjoying this one. Find myself thinking about the series between episodes which doesn't happen so much anymore.

Excellent and very well acted
johannes2000-128 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I was for most of the 4 episodes very impressed and fascinated: the premise is strong and relevant (the risks of sexting), the pace is high, script and dialogues are great, and the acting of all concerned is top notch. Especially the young kids do a great job, like Yawed Daher as Nassim and Kavitha Anandasivam as Dip, both were very convincing in their demanding parts and at several times moved me to tears. But also Asher Keddie should be mentioned, as the exasperated mother who is torn by a loyalty conflict between her overbearing macho husband, her questionable son and her own integrity.

After the last episode ended however, I wondered what the message of the makers could have been. Of course, they primarily wanted to point out the risks when young and influential kids send intimate pictures or videos to friends. But the conclusion of the series was also a bit cynical and with that frustrating: the ones that were either victim (Dip and Zoe) or genuinely repentant (Nassim) were left empty-handed, without justice done, while the really bad guy (Andy) got away with everything! Even well-meaning teacher Ray (Sam Reid) ended up tainted by nasty suspicions about his integrity. Maybe the makers in this way wanted to emphasize how detrimental such affairs can be to all concerned, but to me the message came very close to: why bother, you never can win from the bad guys!

But for the rest: a really excellent and impressive series.

I really want to like this
whatithinkis2 August 2019
I respect the subject and the way they're going about it.

The casting and acting is good.

But the pace is simply glacial and not in a good way.

So, after three runs at episode 1, I'm bailing.

To those of you who can stick it out, I'm sure it will be worthwhile. The approach seems thoughtful and balanced.

Relatable
hannahwilliams-mail20 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Wow... I felt so many emotions during this, mainly rage but also sadness and joy. Every character was a relatable one except for Andy and his dad. I feel bad about Nassim but now he knows that he should not be sharing pictures like that around. I hope Dip's family treat her better again and was glad she was able to get support from her sister. I'm so happy she was able to reach out to Zoe and for them to form the bond they did. I loved Zoe's nudist run through the school, and I loved Zoe's relationship with her mum, step mum and dad. Watching the girls of Dip and Zoe's class share what they have to do to prevent sexual harassment daily is so relatable and sad. It's really good to see teenage boys be educated on their actions and why females will act one way but it's sometimes out of fear. I understand how Dip feels towards Nassim, and it's understandable, even though he was apologetic he still did send the photo to his friend which broke her trust. I also understand the almost dislike/hatred for him that she seems to maybe feel in the end. She knows that he didn't mean for it to happen like it did, but it doesn't change that he shared the photo with Andy. Oooooo and Andy... I know they were childhood friends but why would Nassim send that photo to Andy when he saw how Andy was acting on that bus to him. "I'm not going to talk to you because you won't show me a pic of your girl" ummm excuse me.... There is so much rage that I felt towards Andy and his father. And I felt bad for his mother especially when her husband was gaslighting her. She should get a divorce her husband is probably just as bad as his spawn. I loved all of the endings except for Andy's, why did he receive no punishment for what he did. I understand, men like Andy and his father get off almost everyday with the horrendous things they do to women. Especially when they are men of power. But I was hoping that we would be able so see them get some form of punishment. It was too painfully real when Andy got off. I'm hoping that Simone leaves her husband and takes Rosie out of that situation. Because even though Andy cares for Rosie, he does not respect her gender as a whole and I wonder what she has to put up with and is taught from her father and brother. I was so sad when Simone was being sexually harassed by her coworker, and she stood up to her coworker but then her son called her what he did. I wish there was more to this show, or maybe even a future installment. I hope someone finally pins Andy for some of the potentially awful things he will get up to in the future. And I hope they get his dad too for tampering with the evidence and obstruction of justice or something.

This was an amazing TV drama that talks about real life scenarios. There are some stereotyping but then again, it is what it is, regardless. Very good educational program for everyone. A subject that should be talked / discussed in schools.

A must see series for teenagers and parents/school staff
anat-534395 August 2022
So important to talk about the consequence of sharing sexual content with others. How it could ruine peoples life and will always stay on line is the illness of this generation.

Excellent story line and brilliant brilliant actors.

Thank you making such a strong series that would help opening up a conversation with the young generation.

Predictable Stereotypes
cotez-5766310 August 2019
Based on episode 1 this topical and attention grabbing theme served up a predictable array of stereotypes that only glimpse the reality of the issue and perpetuate mis-conceptions. The mostly innocent and unwitting victims include the assertive daughter of a lesbian couple, the smothered daughter of a migrant family and the try hard son of another migrant family who seeks the approval of the hate figure; a vaguely larrikin teenage male from a wealthy family. Similarly, the teacher characters are typical teacher characters in typical tv dramas; either old and crusty, or young and naive. Consequently, the soft targets, schools and their staff, appear as hopeless. Well, that is as far as I got. Maybe it will get better but I doubt it.

Don't waste your time. Absolutely terrible.
michmcd-4157431 August 2019
This had a lot of potential. Unfortunately it was executed very poorly. Terrible acting and completely over dramatised. Bad stereotypes, and something I would not have expected from SBS. Completely protracted and a waste of time. Thought there might be some kind of twist in the plot but no. I don't know what Richard Roxborough was thinking.

Ways boys can avoid sexual violence.

Speak to someone like a counsellor for advice when girls start using their bodies and ridiculing language to exploit belittle manipulate and confuse you. It's not your fault and you're not a "pussy" if it makes you uncomfortable.

Speak up when female teachers get flirty with you, it's difficult but start with Kidsline it's confidential and up to age of 25. Sexual violence perpetrated by female teachers on male students is not OK. Report it, talk to someone about it, do not engage. They do not care about you.

Speak up about how porn makes you feel, emotions like anger and confusion. Think about how to protect yourself from getting skewed perceptions from the sexual violence that is being imposed on you via porn. Research healthy relationships and how online content destroys that potential.

Get on school councils etc and speak up about lack of initiatives to help boys deal with their relationship with sexual violence that is depicted just about everywhere as the norm.

Name it when you see boys being demonised in programs like this and in the press when they act out from a diet of online sexual violence with zero guidance, education, mentoring, from the toxic highly deficient world around them.

Society gets the young men it deserves.

Let me say that again.

Society gets the young men it deserves.

This skewed program demonised young men for taking part in the cultural norms WE HAVE ALL ALLOWED, and it is is a useless dangerous destructive unenlightened approach.

Great performances by these young actors and it's good to see this stuff being aired, but it sadly fell into unhelpful cliche and did little for the greater good.
