Favourite episode so far

I've been up and down with this season but this episode totally brought it back for me. The dynamic between the actresses is as fascinating and organic as ever; the writing was top notch, as was the suspense. Hilarious, shocking and subversive - this show in a nutshell.

And it's back

Villanelle is back in form.

Eve is back in thrall.

The writing is zipped up tight.

Still missing the sneakily ebullient humor . . . but it's at least worth attention again.

Killing Eve

Killing Eve is simply the best thing I've ever seen on tv (and I watch far too much than is good for a person!) Writing, actors, characters!! Highlight of my week!

couldnt find two greek actors in the entire uk?
If they didnt mention that they were speaking greek no one would have ever known they were supposed to be speaking greek. I am greek and I couldn't understand what they were saying even AFTER they said it was greek.

Getting too chummy!
MegaMaexn21 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
To my mind the show has lost it's edge... before it was the cat and mouse game that made the story so interesting, but now that Eve and Villanelle 'work together' it has become somewhat lacklustre. The acting is still very strong don't get me wrong, but Villanelle has killed (brutally) many people, which seems to have been forgotten by the writers, the characters and most of the viewers... Now that everyone is basically friendly with each other and the sexual tension between the two main characters has dissipated, the interaction feels staged and unbelievable. Such a shame, the first episode of season 2 started so brilliantly, I am not sure where this will go to maintain any tension and credibility (especially for a 3rd season).

I Hope You Like Missionary!

Tech entrepreneur Aaron Peele is the target for the security services. He has outsmarted one attempt to get close to him. Aaron Peele shows his malevolence in the way he gathers and uses data.

Eve sends for Villanelle to infiltrate Aaron Peele. An unusual job, as the target is not be killed. Still Villanelle manages to kill a chaperone who minds Aaron's sister Amber. She does it while Eve is watching in horror.

As for Eve, her husband Niko has moved out. He is not happy what is Eve is turning into. Eve is not happy that Niko has moved into a fellow teacher's house Gemma. Check out when Eve does channel Villanelle when she goes through her clothes drawer.

With Konstantin and Villanelle working for British security, you would think that some tension would be lost. Villanelle reveals different layers in this episode such as how she manages to get close to Amber, how the malice is always bubbling under.

Promising show that just stopped making sense
sergio-d63 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
So a big tech billionaire just lets his sister's new acquaintance from AA on to dinner, right after someone on his staff, his sister's bodyguard, is suspiciously ran over by a truck? Every character is now aimlessly conceding to every crazy idea the writers cobble up to move the story forward. In a couple of episodes, the MI6 is now knowingly working with Villanelle, a former contract killer for underground crime overlords that left a trail of bodies the size of the wall of China. And now, working with MI6 and under Eve, she just kills and does whatever she feels like.... and no one cares! They just get her on to the next assignment. Just by reading this episode recap you can see how little sense everything makes.

So very tired of her face.
glstrom-1426022 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
It has taken this long to finally admit that Sandra Oh's (aka Eve Polastri) face has reached the point where I no longer can look at it. I am not sure why this is other that just basic over exposure or her expressions, especially towards husband, or mindless smashing of articles in rooms....just have had enough so will probably just fast forward to final episode and be done with it. Sad because Villanelles face is so expressive and engaging, though I have also reached the point where gratuitous violence (yes, I know that is the point, she is a psycho, we get it) with woman literally being thrown under a bus (no witnesses ?) while Eve looks on and somehow accepts this as part of the job...no wonder her husband abandoned ship. Guess he got tired of looking at her face as well.

Totally Illogical
crumpytv21 October 2020
There is a point half way through the second series where Villanelle, The Ghost and both their handlers are known and in plain sight or in custody. So, why are they not apprehended? We are talking about egotistical, cold-blooded, narcissistic psychopaths with no respect for human life whatsoever, and yet there is no regard for those who have died or will do in the future. I hope the real secret service are a lot better than the ones portrayed in this drama.

Totally illogical
mdradosic1 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
My first review ever... I tried to ignore the huge gaps in the story so far, but this is too much... I mean, Villanelle is kinda struggling with her English accent for 2 seasons, and then, she's supposed to infiltrate into this Aaron Peele family, and she speaks perfect English - you just choose if you want the Aussie, American or English accent. It's stupid, the writers wouldn't get salary from me. The end of the show for me... I have no problem accepting the fact it's a fiction, but then at least be consistent with your own rules... This way, they just change everything however it suits them for the story to "flow"... Well, it doesn't flow, it just sank, deep, deep down to the bottom...
