Another day, another Disney Plus documentary about the Apollo missions. This one though takes the form of two episodes, each around an hour long and until "Apollo. Missions to the Moon" this one mixes the footage with new interviews with the people involved and with some dramatic reconstructions of events inside the modules.

Split into two episodes. The first focuses on missions 1 to 8, from the realisation that they were well behind the Russians in terms of accomplishments, to the retrospectively controversial use of Nazi scientist's such as Wernher Von Braun to give them an opportunity to catch up. The second episode focuses on the remaining missions, including the successful 11th mission and the troubled 13th.

Though about the same length as "Missions to the Moon" what this lacks in imagery it makes up for in details that was missing from that film. Greater technical information and some specific recounted moments that weren't filmed, for example, are able to make an appearance here.

I'd imagine, that if your interested enough to watch one documentary about the Apollo missions, your probably interested enough to watch more than one, in which case I'd recommend both "Missions to the Moon" and "Back to the Moon" but if I could only watch one, I'd say this series just about edges it.
