Great movie for the series

A mysterious fog appears out of nowhere and the arms detective agentcy are fighting a powered version of themselves while being powerless. It is upto Atsushi, Kyoka and Actigawa to put a stop to Fyodor and his evil plans to realise a dragon.

Just like the steins gate movie which I watched today as well the movie itself is enjoy but the actual series is much better. All in all if you like the series you will definitely like this movie

I recommend it for all Bungou Stray Dogs fans! It's fast-paced, action packed and has a brilliant soundtrack. Unfortunately, it's a bit hard to follow if you're not familiar with the series and the characters, so I don't really recommend it as a stand-alone job.

Bungo Stray Dogs is a must watch but the movie doesn't completely deliver.

Watching the movie is a must to help close out some storylines and build the base for the 3rd season, but I was left a little disappointed after a great buildup.

Regardless the important part is the war between an occult based detective agency and the mafia running the seedy underbelly of the city continues!

Pros:

• Strong Characters, even the cliched stereotypes are amusing and well done.
• Actions have consequences.
• Redemption is possible, but it's not easy.
• "Good guys" and "Bad guys" are well balanced (in comparison to each other).
• Excellent Intro/Closing music.
• Resolution on some story arcs, buildup for more to come.
• Main protagonist finally gets over some of his fears.

Cons:

• Movie's ending feels rushed, up until then it was very strong.
• Diamond shapes pupils and irises are not my thing.
• Some shortcuts in the animation when dealing with characters seem from a distance, not a fan.
• Inconsistent animation, much of it is well done, but some distracting exceptions.

Overall look forward to a 4th season if it happens.

The makers need to understand that "Mystery" and "Confusion" are not synonyms.

The main reason i love Bunguo Stray Dogs is because of Character Designs and unique superpowers, it also seems so cool in general.

One of my most loved shows.

But what the heck was this movie.

I sadly didnt know it was to be watched before season 3, season 3 which i have finished.

But im not rating it 7 for that i know about the story ahead, but only because it was so damn confusing.

What the hell is happening? Why the hell is this happening? What good would it add to the story and characters?

This movie wasn't needed sorry.

Main Reasons (SPOILERS!!)

• Atsushi was the whole embodiment of "people should be allowed to live" as someone with such a horrific past - someone, who believed he needed to save others and prove himself in order to live. AND for no reason than "just-because" now he killed a person in past and doesnt remember-- WHy?

• That said person somehow re-incarnated (wtf? No explanation) - and is the antagonist with a link of past to protagonist (cliche much?)
• The characters screentime was stupidly proportioned? Atsushi is fine, Akuta i understand, but so much weight on Kyoka out of nowhere, and such little time for Dazai? What was even the aim of this movie??

• The pacing was fickle. It wasnt slow or fast just sometimes fine and sometimes too much action happening at once.

• Showing past before future is nice, flashbacks are nice, metaphors are nice, what's not nice? A confusing soup of all three.

This movie was so amazing, I couldn't even hold back my tears when odasaku appeared in the first few minutes of the movie. This movie was filled with drama and fighting just as the series. Loved this movie so much and can't wait for season 3!

Slow and Slightly Disappointing

This was the last BSD animation I watched. I've already watched all three seasons and Kunikida's special "Hitori Ayumu" before watching this, and from what I heard prior to watching Dead Apple from my friends, the movie was supposedly good. I had fallen in love with Bungou Stray Dogs (the plot is just very... chef's kiss, for a lack of a better expression) and, ultimately, Dazai, as most of the fans probably had. There is just something so attractive about manipulative geniuses that make viewers question their own feelings towards the character. Kidding. Well, half. Although I do think characters like Dazai are what pull me into a series (see: Lelouch from Code Geass, Guren from Owari no Seraph).

I had given Dazai the crown. He became my favorite character. So you would imagine how slightly disappointed I was when he didn't really appear in Dead Apple.

Dazai's character is very, how should I say, dark? He's extremely smart at predicting the future and preparing for the chaos that would ensue with every single step he takes. He has proven countless times in the last three seasons how stupidly intelligent he is, and Dead Apple was not an exception. Putting an antidote in his mouth right before he got 'ambushed'? Brilliant. He knew how it would all turn out. It was like he was controlling the whole chess game. However, they didn't really show him much and instead focused more on the others' dilemmas and battles with their own special abilities. Although that was important to showcase (especially considering the ability the enemy had), I think it would've been better if there were some kind of depth(?) to whatever Dazai's plan was. I don't know.

The lack of screen time for Dazai in Dead Apple was a bit of a disappointment, considering how great of an outfit he was given, as well as the fact that he was basically the 'mastermind' or whatever. Dazai was just sort of... there? For the most part, kind of. Maybe I'm just being biased, haha. Just felt like maybe there could've been more tension or something. Not gonna lie, Atsushi's dilemma felt a bit prolonged, but I did grow to like Akutagawa and Chuuya more through Dead Apple. And, of course, fell even more in love with Dazai. The animation was great.

I Loved how we finally got Atushi's backstory, it was just like the actual show. The plot was great too; very well written. Bungou Stray Dogs never disappoints me

Started off slow and ended sloppily. The motivation for the characters was strained and not thought out, not much perspective: the scene angles were very boring, the action scenes were slightly better than the series but not by much and the script was lacking in overall character-building conversations. The only positives to this whole movie was more backstory for Atsushi, the introduction of a new villain, slightly higher quality animation compared to the series and more supporting character spotlight on Chuuya, Akutagawa and Kyouka. So overall, the movie didn't totally bomb, but it still lacked in multiple areas that would've made this much more appealing and engaging to watch.

not what i expected

I have been waiting for this film since i saw the trailer but what did i get? poor scripted story with no epic and interest. the motives of the main antagonist were not disclosed, typical battle fight in the end with no drama and feelings about characters, you are like 'oh he is died i didnt even notice', and in the end there always good ones who are winning, ugh. t feels like this film is not over and there must be part 2 or continuing, idk, whatever.

so disappointed, tbh. series are much better, hope s3 will be like them too, but not as film.

I legit cant even begin to start anywhere lol. Considering what the plot of the show is about the plot of this movie was actually fairly impressive and fresh. All the characters u love are freshed out in unique ways including the antagonistic characters if u want to call them that. THIS MOVIE IS CANON AND MUST BE WATCHED B4 S3.

The final battle is absolutely nutty.

But yeah.

The dragon scene.

That is all.

Characters: 10/10 Story Plot: 3/10 -> Cannot comment anything because the story plot was not what i expected and the movie went crashing down to the "should-be" climax part.
