After reading manga 138 it has a whole different meaning, is it a dream or a different timeline.

A dark and cruel world...from a different perspective

Warning: Spoilers
One of the things I liked about this episode is the fact that it's something Mikasa simply imagines. It's a world where she could have possibly lived a normal life, and getting the chance to meet Eren not in a bloody mess. In some ways, this imagining of the world felt more cruel than the actual events in attack on titan, and I loved every minute of it.
Definitely worth your time to find and watch this OVA.

What a weird feeling.

This OVA was amazing and it gave me such a weird feeling because it's hard to imagine the story of AOT playing out differently and it gives me butterflies. Along with the really sad ending this is one of my favorite OVAs in all of Anime.

The Best OVA in Anime

Warning: Spoilers
This OVA provides so much foreshadowing and insight into Mikasa Ackerman as a character, as well as the curse that is her love for Eren Yeager, even in a world where cruelty doesn't happen to her, she can't save Eren. The idea that the Mirror Man is a reflection of her future self trying to provide Mikasa with the strength to move on is very significant, given what we learn near the end of the manga in chapter 138, which is one of the best chapters in Attack on Titan, just like this is the best OVA in Attack on Titan, and I'd argue all of anime.
Here after season4 part2

I saw a video talking about a theory, and its a very strange one.
Notice this theory is for people who hasn't read the manga. Only the people who watched the anime and this episode of the Ova's.
So basically, the theory says there's 3 timelines, the Ova, the manga and the anime timeline. And the one who's controlling it is Mikasa. Why? Her love for Eren and him keep dying is the reason she make new timelines, and the only one who knows this besides Mikasa is Eren after he got the power of the titans, thats why he wants freedom from her before anything, he wants the freedom to die!
So, the Ova events are before the manga and the anime, Eren dies of the airship crashing, Mikasa with her grief and love for Eren makes a new timeline, the Manga, i and the one who made the theory hasn't watched the anime but we're assuming Eren dies in it? Then, Mikasa makes a new timeline, the Anime, and thats why we believe it has a different ending. And for that, cant wait for part3 in 2023!

This episode is inadvertently directly relevant to this show

How on earth is this episode not canon? This episode characterizes Mikasa better than Season 2 and 3 ever do. The animation and symbolism are great too! The plot accidentally or not accidentally is very similar to what is portrayed in this episode.
Whether the finale or the plot is good or bad is not the question I am trying to raise/address here; my point is that this episode directly supports the ending. This is easily the best filler episode in this show and one of the best fillers I have ever seen. This should have been released some time after Season 4 Part 2 started though. A lot of people who watched this unfortunately would have forgotten about this special at this point. I highly recommend watching this in case you are wondering.
