A gorgeous film
latinfineart8 November 2022
This film was made with a lot of heart, a lot of soul, and a lot of passion. It was a film about real people living their life, dealing with their problems, wrestling with their issues, and trying to lift up family members who just do not seem to want to be lifted up, do not seem capable of being lifted up, and just seem lost in the wilderness of life.

This is a real heartfelt taste of Georgia, and it's culture, with a little shade of Brooklyn. I don't get to see enough films from this part of the world. I am a fan of Russian cinema, but I don't see too much Georgian cinema, so this was a very special treat. I highly recommend this film. Real stuff, that you just don't see coming out of Hollywood often.

Georgian culture shown in USA

This movie is absolutely need to watch. Brilliant acting, There are many problems which transform s and guides you to whole scenario. Gambling addiction problems, bad habit lifestyle, somehow teaches you that there are many things above than wasting your time.

Views from Georgia leads to NY views , simply shows very atmospheric experience, which you obviously need to catch. Kakhi Kavsadze ( plays his last role ) pure class, Soundtrack's playing quite dramatic role entering each part of the movie.

Fatherly love, support and nothing usual than just giving you the feel to understand the feelin in specific cultural way.

Bravo team, Well done.

A touching story well told!

Warning: Spoilers
If you like to watch Georgian cinema, then you will like this film, as it is a typical representative of the Georgian soul. A very human, deep and real-life film about a poor family from Tbilisi, whose son has gone to study medicine in America. When his father (a former wrestling champion) goes to see him, he discovers that his son has a gambling addiction and is financially indebted to a local mobster. To help him pay off the mafia, the father takes a menial job, but the money he earns is again lost by his son to gambling. He then embarks on another venture to make money, but without success. Finally, he meets the mobster face to face and offers him a bet - to fight to the tush, if the father loses, he will be forced to sell his apartment in Tbilisi to pay off the younger mobster, who in his youth also engaged in wrestling, if he wins, the mob will forgive his son's debt.

The film shows what sacrifice parents are willing to make to help their children. It shows the struggle of the poor who unite to seek justice, but encounter an injustice dictated by the same deprivation.

The film is Georgia's Oscar submission, and Levan Tedaishvili's role as the father is outstanding.

Masterpiece and family bonds
bshristov1 November 2022
I'm a Bulgarian and the story, the atmosphere, the rotten buildings all around , the minimalistic acting performance is the crown of the movie. My personal favorite is the father of course. His motivation to help in his son's name, his personality and performance is just a masterpiece. Bravo, Levan Tedaishvili, bravo. The mix of professional and non-professional performers adds to the film's naturalism. This movie is a absolutely need tho watch. Maybe the best European movie for the year. I personally recommend you tho watch the movie with your entire family and friends. The movie about family bonds and real life stories. 10/10.
