Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966)
A memorable movie!
In order to understand the film more clearly, you must first know that Virginia Woolf is a notable writer, a defender of women's rights, who throughout her life strives to live without illusions.
The movie is worth watching at least once. It tells the story of a middle-aged couple who are endlessly unhappy and keep attacking each other verbally and non-verbally. After a late cocktail party, a young couple arrives at their home and are forced to witness their toxic relationship.
This complex psychological drama will strain you to the limit.
If you think you have big problems with your partner, after watching the movie these problems will seem insignificant to you.
The characters are very well built and acted. The director has done his job.
Scarface (1932)
A movie you will watch in one sitting! Then you'll play it again!
The film is very polished. There is also a cause - the fight against the mafia and riots. The director also places the common man in the fray, as a citizen who is the state/government. It touches on the issue of lousy laws that allow anyone to have a gun, the problem of the media that covers mafia activities and thus only advertises them.
Apart from this social commitment, the film has excellent artistic qualities. The character Tony Camonte (played by Paul Muni) is three-dimensional and we see his transformation throughout the film. His whistling, his gestures of goodbye, of mocking, lighting a cigarette, loud laughter are all memorable features that are part of his bright demeanor.
Outside of all the tension that comes from Tony Camonte and his new boss, the character of Angelo (Tony's secretary) will make you laugh more than once with his behavior in scenes that, no matter how many times we watch them, we laugh again.
Tony's sister - Cheska, whom he is so jealous of, despite her episodic role, also leaves a lasting impression on the film (at least the dance and love performance on the piano, which she performed for Gino - Tony's right-hand man).
Tony's confrontation with his boss about how their mafia clan should be run on the one hand and their competitors on the other, as well as the active police, rhythmically fills the film with tension until its very end.

A touching story well told!
If you like to watch Georgian cinema, then you will like this film, as it is a typical representative of the Georgian soul. A very human, deep and real-life film about a poor family from Tbilisi, whose son has gone to study medicine in America. When his father (a former wrestling champion) goes to see him, he discovers that his son has a gambling addiction and is financially indebted to a local mobster. To help him pay off the mafia, the father takes a menial job, but the money he earns is again lost by his son to gambling. He then embarks on another venture to make money, but without success. Finally, he meets the mobster face to face and offers him a bet - to fight to the tush, if the father loses, he will be forced to sell his apartment in Tbilisi to pay off the younger mobster, who in his youth also engaged in wrestling, if he wins, the mob will forgive his son's debt.
The film shows what sacrifice parents are willing to make to help their children. It shows the struggle of the poor who unite to seek justice, but encounter an injustice dictated by the same deprivation.
The film is Georgia's Oscar submission, and Levan Tedaishvili's role as the father is outstanding.
Il conformista (1970)
It's ok to watch the movie once
A very good idea for a movie, but not that well told. Excellent visual work. The movie starts very well and you can say that the first half is on a high and keeps you glued to the screen. Unfortunately, the rest of the film is not particularly impressive.
The main character, Marcello, has a traumatic childhood that predetermines his behavior in adulthood. He cannot find himself among others, his image is extremely confused and so are his actions. He fails to realize himself throughout the film.
There are scenes where the characters don't react believably enough to fulfill the script and that's a big problem for the narrative.
Still, I don't regret watching it, but I won't repeat it.

Unfinished film
The film shows a successful director who works from home with the help of his mute, endlessly submissive assistant. The still fresh pain of his breakup with his love partner makes him feel lonely and unhappy. His explanation for the breakup is envy from his boyfriend. His daily life is associated with work on scripts, alcohol and drugs. A ray of hope is his introduction to Amir, who is a young and handsome actor, separated from his girlfriend ( which is in Australia )and waiting for his star moment. Peter offers him to leave the hotel where he is staying and move into him. This is the beginning of their brief romance, the finale of which will make Peter's life even more bitter.
We cannot feel there connection in depth. Even when Amir leaves him, there is no sense of the great separation that would lead to Peter's immense suffering. Peter tries to stop him from leaving, but it doesn't look good, it's not finished clearly. There is a moment when Peter's mother asks him about something strange with grave of father, and Peter doesn't answer anything. The audience cannot explain this moment. He sits, like a hole.
Otherwise, the film is mostly shot in close-ups, which makes it chambered, and this trick works because approaching us to the full melodrama. It was shot almost entirely in interiors.

Touching the heart
Very real film! You will want to watch it again and again. There is laughter and tears. An emotionally beautiful film!
The father is a colorful character. He is a prankster, headstrong, attentive and caring, hardworking, valiant, self-sacrificing and loving. Fate, however, was not kind to him from his earliest childhood and so throughout his life. His views on life diverge from those of Akira - his son, leading to many emotional moments for both of them.
Both will grow in their relationship with each other guided by their love.
A film with a strong emotional charge similar to "Bicycle Thieves".
