Would've Been Better If
Eve_of_Destruction30 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Kind of appalling that they gave the brother a sudden stutter and used that to make him look like a nutjob out of the blue. People with stutters are not lowlifes. And the father was so concerned about the appearance of his family? And never notices his son has psychotic issues? Nor did the brother/father of the baby? And then they kill off the friend and people barely care? The poor girl was only there, and didn't even want to be, because of the daughter. With just a little bit more effort this could've been great. The acting was fine from the two leads. I enjoyed it as I usually do with Lifetime minus the ridiculous parts. I guess they do it on purpose since it's definitely there schtick. And clearly it works.

Involving reunite with kid movie
phd_travel14 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
A woman who gave up her baby girl for adoption is contacted by her and goes to meet her. But the girl and her friend are kept locked up by some one just before the meeting. The unknowing baby daddy is a cop in the town. It's fairly involving.

Rather irritatingly she tries to find her herself at first. For this kind of movie if it gets your attention then it's not bad and you want to see how things get solved.

Worth a watch.

Keeping the Faith
lavatch27 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
After delivering her baby, Ashley Quinn requests a lock of hair taken from the child, and she decides to name the baby Faith. It turns out that it will take plenty of faith to reunite mother and daughter after an eighteen year hiatus.

The filmmakers of "Finding My Daughter" deserve credit for sustaining melodramatic and heart-wrenching dialogue and action for ninety minutes. Ashley wanted to keep her baby, but was forced into giving the child up for adoption. Her feckless mother bowed to the pressure exerted by the ruthless Wes Christian, who did not want his son's career besmirched by racial taint from a mother of Latin American ancestry.

The year was 1999, and it was difficult to buy into the film's racial slant. At any rate, Wes Christian was completely ignorant of the fact that both Jake, the father of the child, and his brother Scott were completely besotted with Ashley Quinn.

Even more bizarre than the patriarch, Scott, Jake's younger brother who suffered from a noticeable stutter, was finally able to spit out how he believed that Ashley belonged to him, and not to his better-looking and super-achieving brother. It also seemed gratuitous on the part of the filmmakers to have gruesome collateral damage in the deaths of Brittany's best friend Emma Turner and the kind hair stylist Rebecca. A few tweaks of the script could have kept the melodrama and limited the violence.

While many of the narrative strands stretched credibility, the fine performances brought out some especially moving moments. It was especially the reunion of mother and daughter (Ashley and little "Faith") that was so moving. It goes to show how important it is in life to keep the faith.

A mystery that.......
mwcanadian29 November 2020
This is a mystery that's easier to solve than many Scooby Doo movies. My first suspect was correct and it was one of the easiest crimes i solved. Part of the issue is that when a crime is this easy, it drags a movie down. Surprises are best and this wasn't a surprise

As lame as they come...
rossmcfarlen16 May 2019
I'm always willing to forgive a ropey start with the expectation that the narrative and tension will pick up to a compelling Act II with a satisfactory denouement to match the meat of the yarn.

This flick never took off the ground for me and I couldn't muster the energy to suspend my disbelief at all the contrived coincidences that just didn't add up. The words lazy screenwriting spring to mind.

So bored was I towards the end I wanted a psychotic mass killer to turn up outta nowhere with a rapidfire machine gun and mow all the main characters down in less than twelve seconds flat - I couldn't wait to see the back of this snivelling lot.

This was the ending I desired but unfortunately, and expectedly, the makers of this yarn delivered the ropey ending to match the ropey beginning....there's a fifteen minute chunk in the ropey middle where I fell asleep but unfortunately I woke up...😴😒 Did I miss anything?

You bet I didn't!

My other reviews testify that I'm no mean critic but this flick has brought out my worst side so far.

ok movie but ....
dmichaelsKD29 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Ok movie but you will end up yelling at your tv screen the whole movie. She isn't a kid anymore tell him everything right away. It is stupid that she spends the movie not telling him. Find some other way to gain your suspense in the movie. I am also so done with the victim knocking down their attacker and then instead of finishing him off just running away.

Boring and bland, and unoriginal plot
lmnclips29 November 2020
This was your typical murder mystery missing family member LMN movie. As if this plot line hasn't been done over a million times. This movie was abysmal! with bad acting, unlikeable characters, and unoriginal plot, as I had said before. I barely paid any attention to it and couldn't wait for it to be over!

realistic with positive ending
NijazBaBs16 February 2019
This movie is about real life abandoned kids by parents issue, and typical crimes. I liked it for positive ending and for its topic: real life crime and relationship problems. There is bit too much talk and too little action, and too much typical stuff. It could have been more professional. Also I immediately recognized Al Sapienza, the actor from Prison Break season 1. He looks political and serious, just like in Prison Break.

Cristina Rosato is Amazing
hoops-5343618 March 2021
Wow! We really enjoyed this movie. Cristina Rosato made Ashley a character that you really cared about. It really seemed like she was a real life mother searching for her real life daughter. Like any movie there were some flaws- the one that stood out most to us was when they discovered the body of Emma, they were picking up shoes and other things that might be clues and also moving the body. And the sheriff and his deputy were complicit in violating the crime scene. Overall, however, it was engaging and I am looking for other titles with Cristina Rosato in them. We also loved how the movie tried to make poor Troy the "obvious" bad guy.

Very Touching Movie
dianadou7 February 2021
I watched it more than 10 times! BTW, to whoever said "it's a typical LMN movie", it's not! It was filmed by a Canadian company and 3 years later made it's way to LMN.
