One of the most powerful episodes ever, it sends 3 different extremely important messages ,1) April and holding on to faith,2) racism 3) domestic violence ,,,the story line of this episode goes through all of these issues in a touching way that really raises awareness about the different kinds of abuse ! also it gives you something to think about , although it has left me with disappointment and sadness over april !

Extremely well written episode - 100000000000000/10

For everyone giving this a bad review, you're entitled to your own opinion, however you cannot deny that these are real issues facing the world today. This is not political. This is real life. Everyday people go through these things - struggling with religion, what is right, what is wrong, wondering why their loved one was so unjustly taken from this world. This episode was written just right that is showed these struggles without condemning someones beliefs. These are real life events and this episode brought them tastefully to life. This made my respect and admiration for the show overall, go sky high. For anyone who has ever lost a loved one too soon, I'm sorry, no one should ever have to go through that. I hope this episode let you feel seen.
The most powerful that Grey's Anatomy has ever come

Warning: Spoilers
I don't get why people are so annoyed with Grey's Anatomy turning into political issues. Why must something that concerns us all be wrong? Or boring?
Just like the last episode, this touches again the subject of domestic violence, but now it adds the delicate subject of racism in the form of police brutality, and on second plane the problem with April's fate.
When I saw Bailey and Warren giving Tuck "the talk", I was really, really, REALLY shocked. I could NEVER imagine that black people could be needing to give their children that kind of "Talk". I'm Latino. I'm Mexican. And even that, I could never picture in my mind two Mexican parents giving their children "that" talk. Devastating.
April talking about how the police was doing "their" job, and suddenly be aware of her white privilege when Jackson is telling his story was also so we'll portrayed.
I really were shocked for all this episode. Nicely done.
Sorry for my bad English. Not my first language.

Impactful, Unforgettable

This is one of the few episodes of Grey's that I literally can't let go of. There are many episodes that I remember and made an impact. This is one I went back and showed my mom because of the story. This is a story that literally made me stop and think about what black families have to tell their children about interacting with police. This episode is one that everyone should watch regardless if you're a fan of the show.
This episode is now my favorite!

I love that these issues are being raise by brave souls. It can cause people to think about things if they will allow it. You cannot talk about domestic violence, racial profiling and the "voodoo topic" of white privilege/gender privilege/class privilege without looking at religion. Religious beliefs fuel all of this. Aprils subsequent crisis of faith is something we all need to experience and come up with some answers that come from the heart, not the mouth of some "privileged" religious leader who says it is the word/will of God.

hating this show more and more

Has very good story lines and explores important societal issues but what's with the jokes about religion and God? Why can't shows just leave religion out of it instead of bashing it and making fun of things they don't understand.

Typical

For a programme that prides itself on tolerance and inclusiveness, they're certainly go out of their way to show such intolerance towards anyone with a faith.
It's ironic that they show such intolerance and prejudice to one group, whilst trying break down intolerance and prejudice towards others.
Such a shame. If love is blind, it should also be accepting of everyone, whatever their beliefs might be.

So much propaganda

So much bs based on lies. Lot of mocking religion in this episode.
Cops shooting black innocent kid in high standard neighborhood is extremely rare yet here cops are racist pricks. Show gives viewer reversed statistics on police brutality. Based on that Beiley teaches her son how to kneel with hands behind head and how to beg racist cops for mercy.
Kepner became so cynical and bitter.

And the show just lost one star.

I really can't with that stupid writing. First they have a kid breaking and entering in his neighbors house, to get to his. After his mother told him to (!?) then a character says « I'm smart, I'm a scientist, I'm a feminist » (?!) and a patient planned on cutting his own hand to stop sinning (!?!). April's storyline was good until a certain point. Joe's fake laugh/cry we've seen a thousand times already, was ridiculous. And the whole conclusion of this farce, was laughable at best...
