Haters
jameskevinjunior19 July 2022
It's crazy that people are big mad because the daughter sleeps with black guys, and the son sleeps with guys. What a miserable existence to lead and experience any form or medium.

Pretty good

Warning: Spoilers
I believe Fallon was supposed to be a likeable and badass character, but so far she has just been a spoiled br*t and shown severe lack of judgement. She's so full of herself, vain, and assumes she's entitled to being COO just because she's her father's daughter. That briefly describes a personality most of us hate, and personally Fallon is a hateable character. She's annoying, boring, and possibly has every bad characteristic of a 20 something year old. Other than my despise for Fallon, the show itself is good. It's a superb remake, with new additions and proper changes in the cast. I mean Sam is now a guy, and a lot of african american actors have chief roles. The show builds up tension, drama, and leaves mysteries to unravel in later episodes. It's full of diverse characters and it leaves viewers wanting more and more.

I Hardly Recognized You (#1.1)

Warning: Spoilers
Well this is not bad. Very soap opera style. I just didn't like Fallon. None of them are pleasant people, this is not how the show should be, but there is something special about her. Maybe the actress, I don't know. I hope not to see too much of her or I might give up. But she seems to be the main character so this won't work. The rest was all soap opera pleasure. Wealth, fights, stabbing in the back, stalking and even one guy got killed. Pretty nice, might get even better! And Grant Show is in it! I was in love with him as a child (Melrose Place times) and he still looks hot.

This pilot had everything

Warning: Spoilers
What a start of a new series! The first episode of the Dynasty reboot is so full of events I don't know where to start. The main story line is about Fallon Carrington, brilliantly played by Liz Gillies. Fallon is smart and ambitious and always underestimated by the men around her, she is working hard to prove herself capable of taking the family's company, only to find out her father gives her position to his new fiancée Crystal, who is not much older than Fallon herself. Crystal has a lot to hide from the Carringtons so it seems. Fallon fights back by having her chauffeur (and lover!) Culhane spy on Crystal and also teams up with her father's biggest rivals, the Colby family. Fallon's discovery about Crystal sets up a whole dramatic series of events ending in a huge cliffhanger. Can't wait to see what's next!

Decent start

I want to start by saying, mshavzin , you should stop throwing the word "liberal" so much, because you apparently do not know what it means. In the scene where the son and Crystal talk, he says something along the lines that how she wanted to see him, because it's impossible that the father has produced such a bleeding heard liberal. MEANING that the father and the his entire dynasty are REPUBLICAN, only the gay dude is liberal/democrat. I would say that this generalizes gay people, but come on, gay republicans are just all sorts of weird. Fallon is not a liberal. Is she spoiled, yes, is she a brat, yes, is she a liberal, F*CK NO. And why she thinks that the company should be hers - she said it - because a dynasty, in her mind, in supposed to go from parent to child, since spouses could be fleeting. She was at the age her father was when he became the head of the company, but he is having second thoughts about passing it on to her, most likely because she is a woman. If it was her brother who wanted the company, he will already be sitting in the COO chair.

Bah, now that this is out of my system. It looks like something i might enjoy, if for nothing else, than at least for the guilty pleasure of watching it. Some shows are so bad, they end up being good

very promising pilot

Warning: Spoilers
Pilots always have the difficulty with introducing all the characters and story lines, but Dynasty gave a good start. Fallon's voice-over at the beginning was a good introduction and the scene with the two mansplaining guys a very funny start. The story line then went very fast from the introduction of Crystal to the wedding, but that was just the beginning of so many story lines. Fallon competing against her father and working together with the Colby's, an upcoming love triangle between Fallon, Culhane and Colby, Crystal's hidden past and her cousin hooking up with Fallon's brother, and last but not least the death of Crystal's ex. A full on soap drama, loved every second of it. Excited to see what next week will bring!

Gave it a chance. I feel bad fro Fallon's dad, his kids are ungrateful tramps.

I can't stand the characters. I thought maybe I could get past the immature, overly liberal view of the world presented by the show. IN RESPONSE TO ANYONE UNABLE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I MEANT BY LIBERAL VIEW OF THE SHOW I never said all characters, or even most, were liberal. I meant the point of view of the writers is overly liberal. So, of course they will put in conservative characters, so that they can make them look bad. The father is certainly a strawman conservative. While Fallon and her brother are the liberals who we are supposed to cheer for, but can't because they are snotty, trampy, crybaby brats. OK...back to the review; Never mind the attempt to distort real life issues, like the pipeline built on Indian ground, which mirrors real life, except that in real life the pipeline is not on Indian ground, but rather on privately owned ground that Indians in the area made up reasons to claim simply for obstruction purposes. Of course on this show the fact that pipelines provide jobs so families can eat is omitted. But OK. Lets let that go. Fallon is a real ungrateful snot. How exactly does he decide that her father's company should be hers? It is HIS. HE gets to decide everything about it. If she is so smart, and capable, then she should go start her own company. Her father owns the company absolutely, and has built it to where it is, and it is up to him what to do with it. The idea that she deserves the company simply because she is her father's daughter is pretty absurd. Simply because her father's father decided to give the company to his son, doesn't mean her dad has to do the same thing. That is just silly. And I completely understand why he would not give the company to her. She is treacherous, going behind his back and making a deal with his enemies simply because she is not given what she believes she deserves. She is a user, and very loose in her morals, enlisting the aid of the driver, and paying him with sex. If I were the dad, I would have disowned the two brats too. They are almost funny, because they are such perfect millennial stereotypes; shallow, trampy, and entitled without ever having done anything for themselves.

Even the fashions are completely lackluster. You would think when representing wealth at the very least you could show off some unique fashion perspective, especially with the old Dynasty for reference. NOPE. Failed that too. You've seen one sheath dress, you've seen them all. And can I just say the chick that plays Fallon is really just not that good looking. I'm not a guy, but maybe its her personality, but she gets ugly fast. Maybe its that mean frown always on her face. The raspberry high rise slacks are kind of good.
