Deserves A Rewatch
jasminn_tan17 May 2020
This was one of my favourite k-dramas because it was so light-hearted but also hopeful, and I loved the friends-to-lovers trope, especially because the main characters were both very individualistic and they both were interesting enough without the other. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won and I hope they will work together on a new project soon.

By far the most realistic Kdrama IMO
aneeqazehra10 July 2020
I am a digger for kdramas. This is by far the most realistic one i have seen. The struggle with family, finances and love interests of leads and second leads is very relatable. I have a few concerns with how the story for second leads concludes. In the circumstances the guy should have ended alone. Lead pair did fine. I am a huge fan of Park Seo Joon. His acting was spot on and showed a great chemistry. But i felt the drama got a bit dragged pointlessly at few points. Some episodes were totally waste and did not contribute to plot much. I have it a 7/10 rating because it could have handled characters better.

Beautiful and realistic Rom-Com
jaseemp30 July 2020
The show is a pure entertainer from the very starting itself. The leads are great and has a very good chemistry between them. Unlike other Rom-Com the female lead is not a candy, Cinderella type. But a strong one. That alone makes the show interesting. The leads were friends for a long time and are from the same economic background. They both chase after their dreams, consoling each other in the difficult times. Every episode is entertaining. A very good watch.

A feel good series
thejassivakumar23 April 2021
In most of the Korean series we've either one of the leads being rich, but this series an exception. We have four lifelong friends who are struggling in their life. They are fighting to achieve their goals and also maintaining their friendship. Soon Dong-man and Ae- Ra starts falling in love and both of their dreams come true, but they still face some obstacles. This series shows their efforts and both their upcoming and downfall. It is good series to watch definitely with watching.

Good enough
PennyReviews22 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
A good enough drama with twists that even happen till the last episode. The love story was strong, with the friendship overpowering the romance though, which isn't necessary a bad thing. The friendship dynamics actually were pretty good, as well as the chemistry between the actors and the couples. The side story was interesting as well. The martial arts theme was entertaining, moreover. The action scenes were presented really well and looked original and real life and not badly made, so that gave the drama a boost. The past mysteries, in addition, were interesting, but not that thrilling, as they were kind of odd and even if they weren't added, the story would have been the same. Finally, the performances were good as well.

Brilliant series
hanalisss6 August 2022
I mean, this is such a wholesome drama. I had such great memories of enjoying this a while ago and I just watched it a second time and it is just as great as I remembered .

The most surprising thing for me about the drama is the awesome script, being the silly comedy it is from the beginning you can get confused and think it will be shallow and lighthearted with no depth, but nothing further from the truth.

The characters have a lot of layers and their backstories are very emotional and raw.

I enjoyed the cleverness of the dialogues having quite intense sentences, nothing dumb or cliché about it.

I laughed a lot but I also was hooked with all storylines.

This is Really awesome and complete watch, don't miss out.

Refreshing and poor ending
seveneleven-4426924 June 2019
Overall , it was okay to watch, main and support was good , humour was alright. but, story and plot is all messed up, first 10 episodes are bearable but as it progresses further it just feels flat, last few episodes are poorly produced and something about the ending episodes feels off .

Worth Every Minute
Chaokage8 June 2021
I loved how original this series was when it came to the romance between the two leads. You'll get to see somethings you've never seen before in any romantic Korean series before. The series also has a great mixture of both uplifting moments and sad history especially for our lead character. Beside the romance, the comedy was just another highlight for me and you just can't fake it when it comes to laughter. This series is just perfection served on a golden platter. A must watch!!!

This drama started of on a fun and comedic note and really lifted my mood. But it started to drag and get boring around the 4th or 5th last episode.

Decent
meemsyd23 June 2023
This show does a good job at depicting a realistic look at life in your 20s with the disappointments and hardships, but also the funny moments and friendships they have. There's a focus on career goals, one with taekwondo and one with being an announcer, and the plot moves along at a decent pace. The friends-to-lovers storyline was pretty good, with lots of light moments and good banter. I did think though that overall the character development and arcs left me wanting. The second leads especially for me had a bit of an unsatisfying trajectory that just made me feel a bit sad. Overall it's a decent watch but not my favourite.

Really loved this one
leahcubed27 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Life and love happen to long time friends Ko Dong-man (Park Seo-joon) and Choi Ae-ra (Kim Ji-won). Dong-man is a formerly famous martial arts fighter who fell from fame Choi Ae-ra works in a department store but dreams of much bigger things.

The descriptions and ratings do not do this show justice. It is one of my favorites and I will definitely be watching it again and recommending it to everyone who will listen. I can't think of anything that I would change. It reminded me a bit of "Rocky Balboa" but just a bit. It was it's own special and very unique story. If you are an Asian Drama Fan and like great story lines, sizzling chemistry, friendship and character growth - you don't want to miss this one. These two actors now top my list and I will be looking for other things they are in.

funny and enjoyable
Mr_Avenger17 June 2021
At the beggining, the drama was very enjoyable and funny . Good chemistry between the leading roles and many funny moments. The plot was nice but sometimes predictable.

However, the second couple was so boring and especially in the last 3 episodes , I couldn't bear to watch them.

A funny drama based on a friendship that became love.

Likeable characters and uplifting story
phd_travel15 September 2020
This is one of the better dramas. Well cast too. The intricately plotted story is involving from beginning to end. Even the secondary couple with realistic long relationship problems is balanced and interesting. Park Seo Joon is totally right for this role as the underdog that even non MMA fans can root for. Better written role for him than "She Was Pretty". Kim Ji Won is pretty and feisty here and acts well as the announcer wannabe. The supporting cast are memorable. Elijah Lee plays an attractive ex. Choi Woo Shik of parasite also has a surprisingly interesting role. Unlike some dramas that lose steam this gets quite involving towards the latter third because of the little mystery involving the landlady and a couple of exciting tournaments. One of the better written K dramas about the struggles of young people.

Both couples are great
lmerana24 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It is hard to come across in a drama that the leading couples and supporting couples are both great actors and have great chemistry. The story is about ordinary people's struggle in love and career, so it was so relatable. More than that, I love the dialogues especially the breakup talk between the second couple, and when they had to talk to the bad girl to get her understand that she's bad. I love the OST, the coach and the flashback kids. The story about the mom may seemed unnecessary but it can be overlooked. Hence, 10.

Kim ji win's acting is the best. It's not everyone's game to do this type of acting. I really liked the drama. Fun to watch.

My Kind of Stress-Relieved Drama!
thaniagnes16 February 2021
It is cute! It is Funny! And it is Sweet! This drama is amazing in their own way with their semi-retro cinematography, somewhat relatable to our life, and not your usual Kdrama when rich boy meets the poor girl. It is cute to see how the development of romance between Choi Ae Ra and Ko Dong Man who were best friends for 20 years. I really love this simple, fresh, and light drama to watch after work. Oh, unforgetably, the chemistry between Kim Ji Won and Park Seo Joon is superb and cute at the same time. This is a must watch drama for all Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won's fans!

Zero plot
ingridxxxxxx14 January 2022
I feel like it has the same plot every episode? No major happenings - just building up to the big fight. Feel like they could have shorten it down to 5 episodes and it would have been better. The side characters story was also boring.

Just watch it now! And after it ends, watch it again :)
crmn-2296112 December 2020
First of all, it's Park Seo-joon (the male lead character) and that kinda says it all. 😜 I've watched a looot of Kdramas but there are not many that I would want to rewatch but this one is definitely worth doing it! I loved everything about this series, it's funny, good music and very entertaining from beginning to the end! The chemistry between the main characters was insane and I truly enjoyed every episode. Hope you watch it :)

I liked it!
tay-sedai27 October 2019
Here's another K-drama for my faves list. I'm a big fan of the friends-to-lovers trope, so this one didn't disappoint. It also happens to star one of my favourite K-drama stars as the hero, and jeez I like a show with good fighting. 😍

I'd summarise it as cute, moving, heartfelt, and satisfying in the end.

Park Seo-Joon ....
tester-8414613 March 2020
I am so impressed with this guy... what role can he not play?! I started watching Itaewon class and while waiting for the episodes each week I saw this drama and "What's wrong with secretary Kim" and Seo-joon is really growing on me. I didn't find him sexy or attractive just good actor but in this drama... gulp.... wow. He may surpass my one and only love Woo Do-hwan.

Such different range of roles which he is pulling off so well. The story is good, gets a little weak after the 11th episode but I do like the romantic parts as well.. I felt the humor was a little bit lost in translation but they executed well without too much cringe lol. I like that the story is lighthearted and the actors don't take themselves too serious.

The female lead is so good, acts so well, the female lead in "What's wrong with secretary Kim" was also good, but his female leads in Itaewon class ... ai ai ai .. terrible especially the older googling eyed one ... anyway

I enjoyed this show very much

One of the best rom kom
psalunke27 May 2020
Every episode of this drama is entertaining. No cliche or dragged story. The chemistry between the leads is just hot. Far better than what's wrong with secretary Kim. Give it a try you won't regret it.
