Shocking

Warning: Spoilers
Excellent episode. Best of the season so far. After a few slower paced episodes, we finally get to see some Titan action. I'm also glad they included the scenes they skipped last episode, as to not make things too obvious and the reveal too underwhelming. I loved all the action here. The Titan fight with Reiner inside the castle was awesome. The end with Ymir and Christa and the big revelation was excellent as well. I'm happy both characters got some intriguing development.

Shocking

The ending was shocking even if it was expected because of the opening scene, maybe it's because of the way it happened.

Still One Of My Favorites
Although my list of favorite AOT episodes mostly consists of episodes later on the series (Savagery, Assault, etc.), "Heishi" still stands out as one of my favorites, being a great encapsulation of everything I love about this series. Amazing action scenes, a level of tension maintained throughout, great character development, plenty of shocking revelations, and perhaps the largest amount of forshadowing in a single episode before Season 3 Part 2, which becomes so much more meaningful upon rewatch. Definitely one of the strongest episodes of early Attack on Titan.

9.8/10.

9.95/10, Near-Perfect

The ending had me like "HUH?". Like honestly, I actually was not expecting that to happen, cause I thought something else was going to happen. Overall, this was an amazing episode, and the only problem I really had was the pacing of the episode. Either way though, every other aspect about this episode was just perfect. So far, the episodes that I rated so far are just pure amazing. The first two are 9.9's, and the next two, which is this and the last, were 9.95's. I have high hopes that this series will be it. It will be the last series that I will ever consider my favorite, because I won't find another.

Another twist

Warning: Spoilers
This episode finally ramps up the tension the soldiers fight these special titans that stay awake at night time and all of them get wiped out meanwhile Reiner gets a very brief flashback as he faces a titan I am very suspicious of him at the moment and any detail about him is important at the moment but the most important part of the episode is the ending when Ymir turns out to be a titan she was a background character in the first season so this season has a lot it needs to explain about her 9/10.

I hope things get better like this episode

The previous episodes were unexpected for me and not very satisfactory, and the new characters are somewhat strange and there is nothing in them that makes me accept them a lot, but this episode was very good and it turned out that I was quick to judge.

Heishi Unleashed
sanadalsalt18 December 2023
While my favorite AOT episodes are mostly from later in the series (Savagery, Assault, etc.), "Heishi" remains one of my top picks, encapsulating everything I love about this series. It features amazing action scenes, sustained tension, excellent character development, numerous shocking revelations, and possibly the most foreshadowing in a single episode before Season 3 Part 2. This becomes even more meaningful upon rewatch. "Heishi" is definitely one of the strongest episodes of early Attack on Titan.

In conclusion, "Heishi" stands out as a pinnacle episode, even amidst the later masterpieces of Attack on Titan. Its blend of intense action, sustained tension, remarkable character development, and a plethora of shocking revelations cements it as a timeless favorite. The episode's intricate foreshadowing, especially poignant upon rewatch, adds an extra layer of depth to the narrative. "Heishi" not only represents the strength of early Attack on Titan episodes but also serves as a testament to the series' enduring appeal and storytelling prowess.
