Idiots at Work
lavatch25 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
"Locked In" is a flat melodrama with a curious mix of characters. It is revealed that the kind father was on the inside of a heist at the Kentucky Derby. The stolen money buried in the barn of his farm becomes the subject of a mad scramble for who can recover the loot. And the screenplay is so sloppy that it is never even clear who walks away with the cash!!!

The most troubling character is young Taylor, the daughter of the thief and the sensitive mother Ann-Marie. The mom has become agoraphobic after the death of her husband. Locked in the family home, Ann-Marie has become a pill-popper living in ignorance of the bad deed of her late husband, as well as the secret discovered by her amoral daughter.

After Taylor comes across the buried bundle of cash, the race is on to see who can keep the loot. After a prison break, Draven comes looking for the cash, killing the local pastor, the kind neighbor Francis, and the incompetent local sheriff. It all comes down to an agoraphobic mother's love of her money-grubbing daughter to save the day, especially when Taylor's horse injection fails to anesthetize Draven.

Along with the reclusive Ann-Marie, the dim-witted boyfriend Blake is the only honest character in the film. Blake so whipped on Taylor that he goes along with her plan to try to keep the money.

Overall, this was only an average Lifetime film that had little suspense or redeeming values. The action scenes in which men and women are fighting in close quarters with an enormous, unwieldy rifle were especially unconvincing. And, by the way, who got the stash of cash?

For a new movie, it was just OK, 5 stars from me
huggibear28 September 2017
It had some nice looking peeps in it. The acting was fairly decent. For a thriller, it was average for lifetime movies. It debuted on the 19th of August this year (2017) and I'm watching it about one month later (27 Sep 2017). It was a bit unreal, but sometimes you have to just wonder what they're thinking when they are going through these things (in a movie). Of course, there were not too many decisions I would have made considering the not so trustworthiness of this world and its current ways, if you know what I mean. I watch out for my own back these days and I stay focused forward. It's still worthy of a least one viewing. Just go for it!

Josie Davis in Understated Role
bt698nhj28 April 2018
So after 15 years away from LMFC (Lifetime Movies for Chicks), wanting to expand my horizons beyond the true crime stories of the ID Channel, I've resumed watching LMFC. Frankly, I was and am shocked these movies are still made, given the explosion of video content since I last watched them.

Josie Davis is apparently the current star en residence for LMFC. She seems to crank out about 5 a year. I've now seen her several times, but I actually did not recognize her in this flick, which says a little something positive for her acting abilities, at least on an LMFC scale.

I'm not much into plot summaries in my reviews. Plot summaries are for, well, plot summaries. Why didn't our grade and high school teachers teach us to review relevant aspects of a movie/book/play/show rather than regurgitate the plot?

For a LMFC, this was reasonably well-acted and engaging. It was plot #11 from the limited LMFC playbook.

Here is my favorite part, one of the reasons I watch LMFC, the faux pas:

1. Killer says his car windows were stuck open and he was getting soaked in the torrential downpour. But when Taylor and Blake go to check out the car, they don't even notice or comment on the fact that the windows were up.

2. Taylor, Blake, Killer and Sheriff have all been outside in the torrential downpour. However, when inside, none of them are wet.

Enjoy this 5-star LMFC!

Terrible acting.

Who did the casting for this movie!? The acting was awful by the two female leads. The mother and the daughter. The story would have been okay if the acting wasn't so cringe. I could not get myself to finish the movie to the end. It felt like the daughter had never done a acting gig in her life. The mother had was too much face work to even look remotely natural. All the way around terrible acting, cast, directing.

Atmospheric thriller by Lifetime standards
phd_travel14 January 2019
This suspense movie a darker tone than usual for Lifetime. Josie Davis stars as a woman who lives on an isolated farm with her daughter. After losing her husband in a robbery she becomes nervous and housebound. Josie acts quite well. Her daughter discovers some money on the property.

Ryan Paevey acts as a mysterious man who supposedly runs out of gas and takes shelter during a storm. Is he here for the money?

It's quite involving to see what happens.

A Lot Better than most we've seen lately
hoops-5343616 April 2022
We've seen some klunkers recently but were really surprised about how good this movie was. Kept our attention throughout and were anxiously awaiting the bad guy getting his come-uppance.

Really loved Taylor and was amazed that the girl who played her (Kaleigh Rivera) was only 16 when this movie was made. Would love to see more of her.
