I didn't particularly like the inclusion of Tom Welling as the lieutenant in the third season, but I still liked some of the episodes. I think the chemistry was off in this one. I didn't understand Ella's wild assumption that Pierce was into Chloe, among other things. There were glimpses of deepness concerning Amenadiel and Lucifer that I loved. Particularly after Lucifer went off on the reform school guy and Amenadiel did his speech about backing him up. The insight and restraint shown when Lucifer attempted to goad him in a fight was awesome. Just loved the acting in that last scene. They're allowed a few bumps in the road, as long as they don't go too off the rails. Like why does the young black guy have to be the one who steals cars and is thought to be a criminal? Stereotypical writing.

Interesting episode, but something's wrong with the writing...

Identity Crises R Us

The new precinct lieutenant Marcus Pierce, appears to relish presenting himself as a enigma, with everyone dancing attendance on him, but perhaps they should instead simply step back, and try and assess if he may have some form of ulterior motive.
Is it my imagination but Amenadial has really, been losing the plot for some considerable time, when he first appeared he was a character on a mission, has spending so much time amongst us lowly mortals anything to do with it?
Nature or nurture? A local project aims to reform apparently wayward youth, whilst Lucifer Morningstar firmly believes that people simply can't change, his exercise to prove his point, revealed to me something more akin to embryo American capitalists.

Weak episode

I love the show, but this was a very weak episode, with a weak and uninteresting plot. Lucifer's behavior is stupid and with no story-logic. And yes, it's a fictional series about the devil, but teaching kids to sell drugs? And Decker is just slightly bothered? Really?
Amenadiel was portrayed as a clown. No Maze, no Trixi, no Linda.
And Tom Welling simply can't act. I really don't understand why he was brought to the show, with such a stupid character, with a single constant facial expression and stupid lines. I miss Tricia Helfer...
Poor Writing on This One

Something was Really "Off" about the Acting in this Episode
email-0519925 October 2017
This is one of my favorite shows, but for some reason, the acting in this episode, especially by Tom Ellis (Lucifer), was below the usual standard. It almost seems like the cast is arguing with each other off-set. Or maybe with the director. Hopefully it will get resolved soon. I love this show and it's a bummer to see the actors struggling to get into character. My rating of 5 might be a little harsh, but I'm hoping they read this and deal with whatever issue is preventing the cast from doing a good job.
Not so hot

A mess. Lucifer has backpedalled into being a total ass and apparently that's cool with Chloe. There's no charm from Lucifer. His brother apparently doesn't understand prostitution? Dumb. And Lucifer deciding to beat someone? Just a writing mess that even the acting can't sell.
An uncharacteristically poor episode.

I have no idea what just happened. All I can surmise is that the writers were smoking what the kids in this episode were smoking.
It was a mish mash of incoherent activity, crap jokes devoid of the usual quirkiness that makes Lucifer so awkwardly charming, wood acting, stilted dialogue and ridiculous mischaracterisations of the leads and an unlovably inept actor playing a wooden lieutenant.
Hell, I can:t even write a coherent review about what I just watched because It was like a random collection of disparate scenes thrown together that did more to ruin the coherence of an otherwise reasonable series.

Weird scene 7 mins into the episode...

So, before the hilarious "So what, she drown?" scene, as a horse walks up the pathway, in front of the left red barn, a guy seems to be, what looks like, throwing something to the ground & breaking it into 3 pieces, or he was shooing away 3 pigeons that took flight, but then have up on life & took one last permanent dive.
Can anyone from this episode's production explain what happened in that scene? I'm so curious to know the story behind this seemingly angry man.
Perhaps he was, ironically, having a Greek wedding at murder scene...?
