Wynonna deals with a genie-like demon and finds herself back in high school for a case during homecoming week. She learns that members of Purgatory High's '07 hockey team made a deal with a Marzonic for 10 years of good luck and apparently the demon has come to collect.
WayHaught is back to being angsty due to Waverly confidently kissing Nicole while on duty (which brings up some boundaries issues) and warning her not to arrest a Gardner. Nicole begins to suspect there is something strange going on with Waves and when she brings it up to Wynonna, she doesn't get a good response. Wynonna is quick to deflect and blames it on Nicole still being upset about not being a part of Black Badge.
Mercedes continues to settle back into Purgatory and we learn that her parents invested quite a lot of wealth into the town. Enough to apparently get the youngest Gardner, Tucker out of jail. Not only is Tucker the town pervert, but it seems he's used to getting away with it and having his big sister, Beth, bail him out.
Doc finally comes clean and tells Wynonna that he's working with Rosita to reverse engineer a cure for Doll. At first, she's upset that he didn't tell her sooner, but she's just glad that Dolls is still alive.
Closing out the episode, Nicole's day gets better when Nedley reveals Purgatory's big secret and his plans to make her Sheriff someday. It seems she needed to be reminded that ordinary citizens need to be looked after and protected too.
Overall "Gonna Getcha Good" is able to balance an episodic and serialized narrative very well. Waverly continues to be a host for the demon goo (that happens to have a thing for silver objects). The shadowy figure is back and has taken an interest in Mercedes. Dolls return and witnesses Waverly in her demon-goo state. Will he be able to warn Wynonna in time before the demon goo wreck havoc? It's still early in the season and there are still questions to be answered.
