Ugh

Warning: Spoilers
Couple points, first the whole pay thing. If people do the same job and have same experience their pay should be close. But samar bent out of shape because Aram makes more. The difference is there are 100s of people like samar, dime a dozen. There are very very few people that can do what aram does. So therefore he should get paid more. So really a stupid point the writers were trying to make.

The second point, are we supposed to feel sorry for the girl willingly killing people so her bf can get the same disease so they can touch each other? It's not romantic, it's demented... How many people, innocent people, they killed so he could fund his research. She should be facing the death penalty. And BTW, fbi agents are on the gs scale. Fairly strict pay scale which is public record. So, the writers most likely failed to realize this really basic point. So if she was getting paid on a gs scale, she was never offered a raise.

Gender equality in the FBI

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was brought to you by the Campaign for Gender Equality. Nawabi accidentally see's Aram's pay check and realises she is paid 32% less than he - and as she points out - actually gets shot at.

The main plot is typical Blacklist fare and mostly enjoyable.

By the end of the episode Cooper has approved a pay rise which Nawabi quickly realises is half of the difference between her and Aram's salary. It becomes apparent Aram has sacrificed this from his own pay check.

I'm not sure what the message was from this episode, does Aram feel strongly about equal pay, or is it just because he has feelings for his colleague (I didn't see Cooper put his hand in his pocket). Or ultimately has he just forked out 8 weeks pay in an attempt to get Samar into bed? Like I said, a worthwhile message to convey but not particularly well scripted.

Rapaccini's Daughter

It's the kiss of death. We have a conveniently developed disease that sets up the entire plot. The young woman is a sad character. She had no choice in what happened to her. Once we know of her motivations and think seriously about them, it's hard to be very sympathetic. So she becomes a weapon in the hands of terrorists. Red has skin in the game and he is looking for the missing money. The thing that I had some problems with was the whole romantic interest thing with the boyfriend. What their ultimate goal was and the touching final scene after the deadly confrontation. Once again we have pithy statement by Red, getting us to the next level.
