They can hump each other, but can they rock?

A typical Girlfriends Films one-off stinker, "Lesbian Girl Band: Grrrls" attempts to stray from the label's tried and true series' formulas, mainly older/younger sex & seduction, to try and capture a youth audience. It's condescending and poorly executed porn.

Chief mistake is the absence of music -these are Adult actresses, with no musical ability. I know Altman somehow managed to make "Nashville" with his troupe of actors rather than casting Music City professionals and thereby revolutionized the way such movies are conceived, but here it doesn't work.

The cornball story of loyalty and a band breaking up is trotted out when nominal leader Raven Rockette replaces the drummer. But these women are not given interesting characters to play, and the morose dramatic scenes are poorly directed and unconvincingly performed. It's all an excuse for sex, the problem with so much of what I consider bait & switch Adult Entertainment: shows that have a patina of narrative and acting but are really wall-to-wall sexers in disguise. For the finale, the old drummer (Cassie Nix) shows up and makes up with Raven, an excuse for them to hop in the sack and end the video.

Bright spots are provided by Jayden Cole, seriously beautiful and thereby upstaging the rest of the cast, plus star power by Allie Haze as the new drummer, in one of her gay for pay assignments, after reaching the top of the heap in the boy/girl mainstream.
