The Music of Chopping Mall

Scoring 'Chopping Mall' (2016)

*** (out of 4)

Composer Chuck Cirino is on hand to discuss the music score he created for the 1986 cult film CHOPPING MALL. This eleven-minute featurette starts off with a quick comment from director Jim Wynorski who talks about why he hired Cirino for the job. From here the main focus is on the score itself as Cirino talks about what he was trying to go for in the score and we get to see a few scenes from the movie, listen to the score and hear Cirino's comments. Fans of CHOPPING MALL were greeted to some very entertaining special features for the Blu-ray release and this here is certainly another winner. Both Cirino and Wynorksi tell some very good stories about the creation of the score including some influences that they wanted to work into it.
