Climatic snapshots from tropical island
gacper6 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I was charmed by the mysterious atmosphere and climatic scenes. The movie is filmed in tropical island, which is almost all the time covered with shade cast by clouds, so it adds to the specific climate. It is not a classical story, that has beginning, development and end. It is more like album with photographs, climatic scenes, poetic pictures.

I liked the film, however I have some points, that I do not understand. I asked these questions to the director (Joseph Israel Laban) on his FB profile, but he did not answer. So here are my points, that are bit unclear in the story: 1. when Dino wakes up from being unconscious on a beach, he stands up and gets into water - why is he doing this? 2. a while later, why is Dino hiding up from smuggler? 3. did smuggler save Dino, when Dino was attacked by "Baconaua"? 4. why is Dino helping smuggler? earlier, on a beach, he was hiding before smuggler and later Dino is helping him, why? 5. why is Dino not telling his sisters about the smuggler and keeps it secret? 6. what happened to Dino? was he killed by a smuggler - if so, why? or was he killed by the soldiers who were chasing smuggler? 7. why Dian is saying to her sister, when they cry over Dino: "I did not know, that it will be like that. Forgive me" What is to be forgiven here?

Summarizing, if you do not expect strong and clear story with classical beginning, climax and the end, I recommend to see the movie for the touch and feel of small exotic community in tropical island, far, far away. It is worthwhile to slowly taste it, without any expectations.
