Nikki Pushing the Envelope

A friend of Nikki's gets herself killed by members of a big cartel. So off she and Jack go, into places they don't belong. Nikki is so stupid sometimes. I have often said that if she were a real person, she would have been killed a dozen time, often from her own foolish escapades. Here she gets in the middle of something horrible and as the episode ends she is nowhere to be found.

Unique, big fan of this one.

Series twenty rounds off with a very unique story, Awakening isn't just unique in terms of location, it's a very unique story, if feels different to almost everything. The trend of rounding a series off in foreign fields had perhaps gotten a little old hat, but this one was very good. Mexican politics, cartels, guns, it's a great story. Hard hitting, with a brilliant cliffhanger.

Rick Genest, looks suitably menacing as El Buitre, he's menacing without needing to speak, such a shame he died so young. Raquel Cassidy once again shows her acting skills, she's terrific.

On the downside, it is very far fetched, there are multiple events you know full well wouldn't happen in a million years, it doesn't matter though, as it's dramatic viewing.

Deary me the More I watch these Series the more it becomes apparent that it's yet another Away from the UK Episode where Nikki Again becomes Judge,Jury, pathologist,Detective,FBI Agent,CIA Undercover Operative??? And it's getting to be Tedious.

Get back Home for The Love Of Mike and Stick to being just a Pathologist in the UK.

Really?

Come on, Silent Witness!

Yet another episode clearly designed to be 'epic seasone finale', which, in the minds of the producers, must mean let's transfer the action somewhere abroad, where it's, of course, dangerous and our white middle-class heroes will save the day.

Why cast white British actors in Mexican roles? It's 2017 for God's sake. Raquel Cassidy - a brilliant actress in many other ways - hardly makes an effort to pick up an accent and Elena Saurel's accent is not Mexican but Spanish....

As for the Mexican stereotypes the white saviour pattern (again), waht can one say. Awful, patronising stuff. I'll finish my SW marathon as it's a couple of seasons left only, but no more. The series has gone downhill big time.
