I understood from the get go that this was a YouTube production that was developed on a lower budget. It has its moments where it's slow and dull but overall the dynamics between all the characters have a considerable degree of compelling interest.
I watched this through the lens of an educated foreigner and for those who do not know much about Saudi society may not be able to understand the through dept of a lot of the struggle portrayed in the drama. There are minor moments that passively criticize Saudi culture yet not directly blaming it for the hardships of people's lives.
Every character has their own aspirations, sorrows, and struggles and how the overlap with each other is what makes Takki compelling. Many episodes are left on intriguing cliffhangers and you really desire the best outcomes for some of the character.
What Takki lacks in production value it makes up for in writing and character development. Despite its apparent cultural disparity from the West, you learn to empathize and relate to many of them. I hope to see more from Saudi Arabia in content of this kind of writing.

Saudi production

I disagree with the previous review. While this production may be "amateurish" I enjoyed watching the series. It is an insight into the culture and the struggle of the young generation to live up to the expectations of their parents , their religious beliefs and embrace the modern dynamics of other cultures. I hope others will give it a chance . Inshallah
Season 1 & 2 and .. season 3

Season 1 and 2 are spectacular and until now I repeat them always, we felt that Takki touched our hearts and talked about Real problems in our life. But season 3 didn't reach my expectations for real, I think that's because Netflix worked at it, and for my opinion, Netflix when make a series it ruin it, they focus about the aesthetic and light, red light here and blue light there, and that's it!, without focusing on the story. Also there is some characters we didn't know what happened to them.
For season 3 ep 4 and 5 were good, I also found the end good, but what I talk about is the feeling that season 1 & 2 gave us , I didn't find it in season 3.

Surprisingly good.

Given the youth of the cinema in saudi, this is outstanding work matching any international performance criteria of highest standards for any series. Brilliantly natural and realistic acting, captivating by soundtracks, picturesque sceneries and strong direction and dialogue delivery - it's an all round entertainment.
Rhythm between episodes as well as seasons was flawless and never for a moment did I feel bored.
Amazing work! Well done!

This "series" seems to be something made for the web. The production level is amateurish. It's a totally pointless production and only of limited interest to a very specific type of audience. Just another example of the rubbish that is available on some major streaming sites.
Exceeded even my greatest expectations

Warning: Spoilers
I made an account just to leave a review for this amazing show.
At first, I didn't have high expectations because Arabic shows tend to drag and lack dynamics, so I'm suspicious of any show that has this number of seasons and episodes but I saw that the episodes are short so I thought I'd give it a shot. That really helped because in a few episodes I already had an idea of the plot and I decided to keep watching.
AND GOD WAS IT WORTH IT. This show has it all: magnificent acting, compelling atmosphere, emotional intensity, dynamics, action, cultural insight, important social themes, you name it. I'm a highly sensitive person and this show was like a drug to my heart and soul. Episode after episode, I ended up watching until 8:30 am and I had started around 9 pm the previous day. That's how much I enjoyed it.
Thank you to everyone involved for creating this beautiful, heart-touching masterpiece.
(Spoilers from here on)
I hated Majed all along but in the end I was grateful for what he did and happy that he decided to see a psychiatrist.
Jalal looked like a baddie but was a softie, he's oddly appealing. Congrats to the actor, he has charisma, got my attention from the first scene he was in.
Bader should be a model, his presence and charisma are chef's kiss. The scene where the morality police raided the restaurant and he was standing in front of the car staring into the distance? Hollywood vibes.
Firas was a piece of work but the actor portrayed him amazingly, he got every detail right, including the stalkerish, creepy, lustful eyes.
Congrats to everyone involved once again!
