Very cute story
Snootz9 March 2020
A smart high school girl is very-generously hired by a very rich man to "fix" his four anti-social grandsons, cousins who can't stand one another. The stipulation: she can't date any of them or the deal's off.

This is a typical Korean romance series. Sixteen episodes long... at times it seems a bit angsty, but that's to be expected. The comedy is mild and not over-played. The directing is good although at places the script is a little hard to swallow. Still, overall the watch was very enjoyable from start to end, with enough going on to keep a person both involved and entertained. Anyone who low-stars this a suggestion: find another genre to watch. This isn't your kind of thing. For anyone who loves Asian "chick flicks"... this is a winner. I'm a guy, and I still enjoyed it all the way through.

The main actress was perfect for the part, and each of the cousins ideal for their parts. I did have trouble with how one character regularly treated another; it was just over-the-top and difficult to believe. But I try to have realistic expectations of such series and overall give this thumbs-up. Well worth watching.

Frustrating but I did enjoy it

Warning: Spoilers
The cast were really great in this even though I get very tired of the Korean stereotype "full of myself" rich boy. The story line was original enough although still adheres to the typical K-drama format. The thing I always find difficult with these dramas is that all the horrible acts that are committed, usually to the protagonist, are trivialized in the final episode. As someone posted in their review, "it is all about forgiveness", is one way of judging the outcome, but really? Do you make up with the woman that just tried to get you removed from the leadership role in your own company while you are dying due to the need of a liver donor, and she claims she was looking for a donor while stealing everything from under you? The daughter that is abused, slapped in the face by her own father, before he evicts her from her family home after being treated worse than any hired help would tolerate by her step mom and sister, and then informs her that she is not even his real daughter. Then they all make up, it was just a misunderstanding. The rich boy who destroys the girl who loves him at every turn, why?, because he was there when her brother was killed. ??? Then confesses how much it hurt him to reject her and declares his undying love for her while still treating her like garbage. I just don't get the Korean attitude in so many of these dramas where the male is made out to be some kind of victim because he feels attracted to a girl so the girl should suffer. (well it's her fault after al!) The Korean actors seem to me to be among the best in the world especially when it comes to emotion scenes. The writers main skill seems to be making a promising 3 episode story decompose over 16 episodes.

Addictingly tacky!
cb_whitewood9 June 2020
I think all Korean Dramas have some level of camp/tackiness to them, but I did not mind one bit about that in this series! I was surprised at how almost all the characters grew on me over time, and the ending was so good that I teared up a little bit. Obviously k-drama antics can be silly, but I think the result of this is so heartfelt that it makes the watch worth it.

Watch it if you want.
REXNE24 July 2020
It was a production I can say successful, but I wish it ended as it started. It is detached from its main contact towards the end, although the result was as desired, there should still be no rupture. A production that can be watched is at a mediocre level.

Nice enough K-drama
plazmakeks31 October 2022
So, I will try to post all of my reviews in terms of how I felt, as a viewer. I am not new to K-drama, I have watched dozens so far in a very short period of time :). So, it kept me watching, I did fast forward many scenes (especially the ones with the step mother and step sister)-overall nice feeling while watching . There are some original turns, I loved that basically you get to see 3-4 different types of guys, two types of young-girls, a bit about loving between older couples, and at the end there will not be just one pair. All the 4guys are lovely, main actress and another girl that's almost protagonist - they all captured my attention. Off course, if it were up to me, I would increase the number of kissing and romantic scenes tenfold, but at least, it's not like in some K-dramas where they don't kiss once:)). Here, you will find some decent romantic scenes, and it is even more than most K-dramas. Happy ending is completely happy.

My first k drama. And I did a fantastic choice
barbarahfmelo24 October 2020
The story is normal for this type of tv show. BUT this is not a bad thing at all, because they also have situations that will suprise you in the process and actually they did a wonderfull job with the chemistry of the actors and with the beautiful lines of the script. It was very captivating, I fell in love together with the characters, I also laughed and cried. The sound track is soooo good, even nowadays i listen to the songs. Cinderella with four knights is for sure a irreplaceable and unforgettable.

Fun and entertaining
hanalisss18 August 2023
Takes the classic Cinderella story and gives it a fresh, modern twist. The drama immerses viewers in a world of luxury, romance, and personal growth, making it a must-watch.

At its core, the story follows Eun Ha-won, a determined and pragmatic young woman who finds herself in an unexpected situation. Hired by the enigmatic Kang family patriarch, Ha-won becomes the live-in housekeeper for three of his grandsons: Kang Hyun-min, the charismatic playboy; Kang Seo-woo, the sensitive musician; and Kang Ji-woon, the rebellious loner. As Ha-won navigates the challenges of living with these seemingly incompatible young men, the drama unfolds with a mix of humor, heartache, and heartwarming moments.

What sets Cinderella and the Four Knights apart is its attention to character development. Each of the four knights is layered with their own personal struggles and complexities, making them relatable and endearing in their own right. Ha-won's journey from a practical and independent young woman to someone who learns to embrace her own emotions is beautifully portrayed, and her interactions with the knights are heartwarming and often hilarious.

The romance in the drama is both captivating and realistic. Rather than relying solely on clichéd romantic tropes, the relationships evolve organically, allowing the characters to grow individually before they find love. The love triangles and emotional conflicts add depth to the narrative, keeping viewers invested in the outcome.

Visually, the drama is a treat. The luxurious mansion where much of the story unfolds is a feast for the eyes, and the stylish fashion choices of the characters add to the overall appeal. The drama's cinematography enhances the emotional moments and creates a dreamy atmosphere that perfectly complements the story's fairy tale inspiration.

In summary, this is a captivating blend of romance, comedy, and personal growth. Its strong character development, engaging narrative, and beautiful visuals make it a delightful watch that will resonate with anyone who enjoys stories of love, family, and self-discovery. Whether you're a fan of Kdramas or simply looking for an enchanting series to binge-watch, this one is a gem that shouldn't be missed.

👡Eun Ha-Won & Those Shoes Kickstart A Family Royale °good tween show° 💯%🔍
50fiftillidideeBrain10 March 2024
Cinderella and the Four Knights is a show that I watched early on in my Asian programming addiction (a gripping addiction that has taken me quite by surprise). I wasn't happy with it at the time, but I can see now, after watching dozens more shows, that it is geared towards a younger audience. There are better shows out there, but CAT4K is a perfectly acceptable way for tweens and teens to spend some downtime.

Eun Ha-Won is an outstanding role model. She is cheated by her stepmother, so no school. She is hustling jobs to save up and make something of her life. She meets Kang Heoyon-min, who rents her for the evening to pose as his date. H3 has his reasons. One thing leads to another and soon she's working and residing in the Kang household which consists of grandpa (He's loaded), 3 grandsons (They are like princes), and a collection of staff, including secretary Lee. This family is in a rut, but EHW will soon shake things up so much it will never be the same again.

The plot is cute and simple. Most problems are wrapped up in a tidy package relatively effortlessly. The romance is sweet. The acting is VG, and the art design and sets are good. They had the elements for a better show, which is why it's so popular, but they skated in the second half of the show and the final couple episodes were downright bad.

They also just hadda trot out an overused Kdrama trope: WKEWY, or, We Knew Eachother When (We Were) Young (The "K" is silent; it's pronounced "Whey," which is what "WHY??" sounds like in Korean. It's MY word. I can do that😜). What a worn-out, 15th-hand, dried out plot point in which a couple, after connecting when they were kids, end up falling in love after years of separation. It's a tie in to a couple being "fated", but is that important enough to wedge it in and toss out originality? Along with the word "cringey," let's put WKEWY to sleep for a hundred years. When WKEWY makes it into a show for no apparent reason, we must ask WHY?? Would they do that?! Kids Show or not, there's more eye-rollers than Knights in CAT4K.

It is still good enough. They deal with the death of a childhood friend and a character that is riddled with guilt. It is a good opportunity to discuss these topics with your child, but it may be too much for some kids, so decide accordingly.

You May Like: For the 10-14 age group, Part Time Idol, Strongest Delivery Man, D4DJ, The Miracle, Spark, Bodacious Space Pirates, Belle, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, One Piece, The Dragon Prince, Avatar The Last Airbender & Trollhunters are all good to excellent.

Hugely disappointing
tinyone222 October 2022
The first few episodes were great. Good premise and an idea I could indulge in. The writing and evolution of the story were unfortunately a train crash.

From the graduation things just went downhill. The graduation itself could have been a great FU moment, but instead it was messy and silly.

From there, the guys turn into mushy mash, and the girl loses all the characteristics that made her great at the start. It was like watching a diamond turn into a turd.

The ex girlfriend of the one cousin kept following him like a puppy. No matter how hard he kicked, she came back for more. It was embarrassing. I found her terribly annoying, and wished the writers did her a solid and let her find some self respect and move on.

The step sister and mother were irritants. They were screeching and yelling like cats in the rain. I recoiled from the pain they caused my psyche everytime they appeared.

The ending was like winning a toaster in a car competition.

Ultimately, this should've stayed an experiment until the movie makers found more substance to include in the story.

Perfect -loved it

Warning: Spoilers
The "Cinderella" in this story is Eun Ha Won (Park So-dam) who is hard working and mature for her age. She lost her mother and her father remarried but is rarely home. She lives with her stepmother and step sisters who do not consider her family and are selfish with the limited resources the family has. Ha Won is working multiple part-time jobs to save up for college. Her mother, when alive, encouraged Ha Won to be a teacher and that is her life goal. Circumstances lead her into the realm of three rich, spoiled, heirs to an empire and the Grandfather thinks she might be just the one to get the boys into shape. This is after he saw her "discipline" one of his grandsons who was not treating his elder or her with respect. The grandfather strikes a deal with her and gets her to move in with his handsome nephews as sort of an adult nanny. Before moving in, Ha Won already had encounters with lady's man and playboy Kang Hyun Min (Ahn Jae-hyun) and the "gangsterish" rebel Kang Ji Woon (Jung ll-Woo). Kang Seo Woo (Lee Jung-shin) is not immediately on Ha Won's radar but the grandfather does not think much of his music career. The fourth knight is the grandson's live in bodyguard Lee Yoon Sung (Choi Min). Park Hye Ji (Son Na-eun) is a childhood friend of Kang Hyun Min and Kang Ji Woon has designated himself as her protector. Hye Ji sees herself marrying into the Kang family and often uses one of the cousins to get the attention of another.

I was actually surprised with how much I loved this movie. Ha Won was everything I love in a lead female character she was feisty at times, sweet and nice to most, fun, positive. I really loved the way she slowly transformed the rich, spoiled heirs. I love bromances and developing relationships. I wasn't disappointed in any aspect of this movie - it was pretty much perfect to me.

KDrama on the Act Of Forgiving
KdramaInStudio2 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I just finished watching, Crash Landing On You, which has proved the all time 10 of KDramas. Cinderella and the Four Knights showed similar elements of love and devotion issues, strong women, and growing maturity. I found the ending profoundly forgiving and I wonder if this is a Korean attribute.

Park So-Dam and Kim Young-Gun were my favorite actors in this film. Park did an outstanding performance of her part and Kim was so brutal and shockingly forgiving at the end. The four knights, each, were magnificent in their roles. In the beginning they were so hard on each other, and really played the part. I. The end, their grew mutual respect and love for one another. The housekeeper was terrific in her role, sweet and funny.

One thing I notice in KDramas is the actors speak to themselves so one knows their thoughts. The other is, each person is so perfectly casted.

I thought the show sent a good message of forgiving in Love. Thank you.

Warning: Spoilers
The best foreign romance film/show I've seen. I've watched it multiple times and still LOVE IT! Reading the sub titles didn't bother me once, it was that good! I would love to see a continuation of their stories after marriage (assuming Ha-won and Ji-Woon will get married). Amazing actors. The only thing I didn't like was Hye-Ji's character. She was quite annoying throughout the show. Overall fantastic and emotionally driven performance. I cried a few times I must admit. So worth the watch.

Great show-must watch
john-norman-244-87706827 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Ok. I watched this without expectation - well, expecting a negative expectation. Boy, was I wrong. This show is basically the Bogart, Hepburn, Holden Sabrina, with great scripting, action, and characters on steroids. They pushed every button and pulled all the strings. Then they pulled out the big guns with an excellent musical score. "For You" BTOB. Despite the rather trite title, you can't go wrong watching this. The Cinderella scheme is present throughout, but again in a way that captivates. There are definitely no surprises. The good guy is the bad guy that gets the girl; but getting there is what dreams are made of.

Heart-warming Cinderella Story
vivianla20 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
At first I couldn't watch the episodes back-to-back but once I learned more about the characters it was hard to take a break.

The actress who plays Hawon is cute and "smol". I love the way she smiles cutely.

The three Kang cousins are dreamy, handsome guys. I disliked Ji-woon the most at first due to his cold behaviour but he ended up being my bias. I liked Hyun-min the most at first due to his confidence. Seo-woo's kindness is so heart-warming.

Son Na-eun looks soooooooo beautiful in every scene she is in! I love how she played Hye-ji. Her acting looks pretty natural and her expressive eyes are mesmerizing. I love her unique fashion sense and how she makes the job seem so glamorous. She is very graceful and her body is to die for.

Haneul House is a beautiful mansion and the best features of it in my opinion are the stairs (yes, the stairs are so grand-looking), the rushing stream and all the greenery. Interesting how the bedrooms were set up with a resting area in the middle.

Episode 10 at 4:36 seconds to the end, there is a boom mic in the upper right hand corner. I saw it , looked it up and I haven't seen anything on it , so I'm not sure where to tell anyone about this lucky find.

alaningle714 February 2021
Three stepbrothers who are all fatherless live in a large house supported by their grandfather who is the owner of a large company. The boys are troubled and do not get along but one day a young female student hired by the old man enters the house to stay. A lighthearted romantic comedy which is very well acted and the pacing and development of the story is very well balanced.
