I actually really enjoyed it!

The guy is actually very likable, something about him is really great. He is not self deprecating, not nagging. There is no drama, that is how it has to be, slowly, painlessly and psychologically comfortable he started to change his life. I hope he stays in good health and enjoys his life!

Funny film that doesn't tell it all

Funny and interesting documentary. The author doesn't tell us however about the cost of his new diet and wether he does food variations and how he corrects them.

Great 😎🌠🌞

I really enjoyed this documentary. It's nice to see Craig changed his eating habits and eating healthier. It was fun to watch him in Japan. I saw this documentary on FMTV which is food matters. I am a recent subscriber to FMTV. it's really great I would like to see a follow up to see how he's doing now. Hopefully they'll get him on FMTV for an update as I think it's been three or four years since this documentary. Maybe next time Craig can go to China or Taiwan

Simple, funny and inspirational

They idea is simple, we follow Craig in his journey to a healthier lifestyle (via Japan) but it was perfectly executed. And while it is true that this experience is out of reach to some of us, I think this was not the point. The point was to show that it is possible to change and integrate different, healthy but still tasty dietetary alternatives. It is highly inspirational even if everyone's journey will be different.

Really Enjoyed This Documentary

I was interested in this film as I've been curious about Japan, food, and culture for quite some time. Personally, I'd love to take a trip to Japan myself, so I wanted to watch this to see what his experience would be. The host is great and watching him go through Japan is enjoyable.

Hungry for laughs!

Absolutely OK as a documentary and as someone who needs to drop a few, I was really interested to see the results; which frankly are pretty obvious and predictable. My main gripe is that this guy, who I don't know, presents himself at the beginning as a comedy/ actor/ creator, so you think you're in for a fun, if educational ride, however, he has a really flat, dull delivery and the fun is pretty much non existent. I'm inspired to eat better as I don't want to end up like this, but not inspired by this film I'm afraid.

Amazing

Understanding the nuances of cultural diversity and how it influences our eating habits is truly a fascinating journey into the heart of humanity. The tapestry of global cultures is woven with threads of distinct culinary traditions, reflecting centuries of history, migration, and adaptation. Exploring these differences not only opens our eyes to the rich tapestry of flavors but also offers profound insights into the very essence of human existence.

In the realm of culinary diversity, the contrast between Eastern and Western cultures is particularly striking. Western cultures often emphasize individual portions and a wide variety of dishes within a single meal, encouraging a culture of experimentation and personal choice. In contrast, many Eastern cultures, such as those in China and India, celebrate communal dining, where sharing meals is a cherished tradition. This communal approach fosters a sense of togetherness, emphasizing the importance of family and community bonds.

Additionally, the ingredients and cooking methods vary immensely across cultures. Consider the art of sushi-making in Japan, where meticulous attention to detail transforms raw fish and rice into exquisite delicacies. Contrast this with the fiery spices and aromatic herbs that characterize Indian cuisine, tantalizing the taste buds and igniting the senses. These culinary traditions are more than just recipes; they are windows into the cultural histories and geographical landscapes of their respective regions.

Furthermore, examining the evolution of eating habits over time unveils the profound impact of globalization and modernization on our diets. In recent decades, fast food chains have proliferated worldwide, offering a uniform menu regardless of geographical location. This globalization of food has blurred the lines between culinary traditions, leading to fusion cuisines that blend flavors from different corners of the globe. While this fusion introduces exciting taste experiences, it also raises questions about cultural appropriation and the preservation of culinary heritage.

Moreover, the technological advancements of the 21st century have revolutionized our relationship with food. The rise of food delivery apps, meal kits, and online recipes has transformed the way we access and prepare food. Traditional cooking methods are often replaced by convenient alternatives, catering to the fast-paced lifestyles of the modern world. This shift not only impacts our eating habits but also raises concerns about the loss of essential culinary skills and the disconnect from our food sources.

In conclusion, delving into the diverse eating habits across cultures offers a captivating glimpse into the intricate web of human traditions, beliefs, and social structures. It is a testament to our adaptability and creativity as a species. As we navigate this global culinary mosaic, it becomes crucial to appreciate and respect the differences that make each culture unique while also celebrating the shared joy that food brings to our lives. This exploration serves as a reminder of our collective journey and the endless possibilities that await in the world of flavors and cuisines.

Nothing useful
ciquta-368-79544325 December 2020
This guy basically has nothing to say. Not about healthy food (obviously), not about Japan (pretty stereotyped). He's not even particularly funny nor talented. He's basically a junk food addicted who needed a pretext to visit Japan and that's really it. The level is pretty low, not sure how this ended up on Netflix.

I enjoyed the movie BUT some of the comments he made when trying to food I felt were slightly insensitive and came across rude. But other then that was ok.

Warning: Spoilers
He is basically mocking the Japanese culture. I couldn't see beyond the tea ceremony.
