When I first started watching Arrow back in 2012, I never really pictured we would see Ra's Al Ghul, let alone frickin Ancient Egypt, but the show actually handled that strange appearance well. I've said it in the past and I'll say it again, both of these shows do a great job of using their little budget very effectively. The effects on Ancient Egypt were as good as anything in Victor Frankenstein, which I just saw this afternoon. The flashbacks itself from Kendra were nothing special, but they served a purpose.

Although not as fun as lasts nights Flash episode, 'Legends of Yesterday' was a packed episode full of fantastic character moments and plenty of superhero team up action. I honestly didn't think I would like Hawkgirl and Hawkman in this universe. For one, there costumes are ridiculous and I'm glad Vandal Savage thought so too, but I also just didn't see a fit for them among everyone else. I was wrong. I ended up really enjoying both of the performances and potentially where the story could go on Legends of Tomorrow.

Both teams spent most of the episode figuring out a plan for Savage at a farmhouse in or right outside Central City. Thea's line "Superheroes in a farmhouse, feel like I've seen that in a movie somewhere" was a nice touch and the first of many funny moments on the episode, a good change up for the always grim Arrow. As per usual with the crossovers, when everyone is in the same room together it makes for some great dialogue and unusual interactions. Tonight was no different, although Caitlin once again got sidelined a bit. But it was great seeing her geek out with Felicity and Cisco as a part of their Geek Squad.

Malcom made his presence felt tonight as he so often does when you least expect it. And of course he would be the one to pick up and keep Savage's leftover...sand? But Malcom also had a few unexpected threats to Oliver which to me, indicates that Malcom will be the big bad of the second half this season. That's just a prediction.

Oliver had his own side story this week as he went to go find out about his possible son. I think we all knew the kid was his, but watching Amell's acting during that scene was heartbreaking. It's always nice to see Stephen Amell show a different side to the often stiff Oliver Queen. It was interesting hearing Sandra Hawke pretty much quote Moira word for word by saying "I will do whatever it takes to protect my son." It was also sad to see Olicity come to an end for a short period. Although it was wiped away by Barry traveling back in time, I don't think that will be the end of that particular conflict between Oliver and Felicity. Just tell her. We have had WAY too many secrets on this show. Stop making it a plot device Arrow writers.

In all, this episode was great. If we're comparing the crossover from last year, I think Arrow was better in 2014 but Flash definitely took it for me this year. But all of them are very re- watchable. Watching all the characters from each show interact with each other is something to look forward to even if it's merely just a bro-hug between Barry and Oliver, which was funny by the way. But really props to the writers and show-runners who for the most part created a well structured and incredibly fun few nights of TV.

+Amell's performance

+Action

+Barry time jumps...what will be impacted?

+Gets me excited for Legends

+No Arrow flashbacks

+Funny character moments

-No more secrets

Should have named it part two
jenny-hathorne19 August 2019
I've watched all of Flash, Supergirl, and most of Arrow. Usually when they do crossovers (dc legends included) they name them part one, two, etc... I usually love crossovers but this one started off confusing me because it just starts in the middle of the story line of a cross over. Unfortunately they didn't name this episode correctly so if you haven't seen the episode on the flash it won't make sense. Once I figured it out I'm all good and love seeing all the crossover characters back together...

Absolutely Amazing !
halukfather4 December 2015
Warning: Spoilers
First of all I need to mention that I love time travel! When I saw Barry's future vision while he was running, ı got excited so hard because like all fans of The flash I also thought that Barry will go back in time again! And I know why they put all of the action into Arrow's episode; Arrow needs more views, I mean really! I hope it will work for it.

The moment when all of the people burned! That part was also amazing ! I felt goosebumps all over my body! Damn bro It still in front of my eyes... The way of Oliver's burn to the death... I don't know how Barry will get through these multiple time zone memories. It will harm him, it has to be...

Oliver needs to be careful about Felicity situations, I don't know why Oliver acting like that, he has to say what he has been through, anyway who keeps secrets anymore? And what the hell was that hug scene? Oliver didn't hug anybody before? I guess he did. It was so rude Ollie...

Additionally please someone kill Malcolm, please it doesn't matter who... even fans can do it.

really cant stand the "former" gf
jtsjtssmokey19 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
As a single mom what she tries to do, and does with "dont you dare tell", crap, she has absolutely no right to say he can NOT tell anyone esp the one person he loves, tell her to go to ___ as he can tell whomever he feels like but esp the one true love of his life. Her saying and "controlling" him when really ??? She cant, he can tell her to stuff it and tell those he trusts and then go on with getting to know son and she can "stuff it" and that is coming from a single mom. Done ranting about hating this part...

Do love the crossover epi as when all together, they do well, that and like both shows (the other 2 or is it 3 ??? Have seen some epis of them and will be watching all in order. Sad to see Cisco find someone only to loose her as she cant stay, but that only he can get through to her when her "soulmate" cant, so maybe not soulmate and maybe...

Yes drama drama drama lol but that is pat of the charm or this entertaining "universe" of a show that has many earths and well some epis are better than others but all do add a bit of something to the overall "verse".

With the overinflated crap to today /life with freemasons along with most of the mega wealth 1%ers and many if not most of royalty (as hey not only does their poop dont stink, they think smells heavenly) all apart of the last couple years of doing away with math as hey, LESS THAN 2% chance of dying (other flu have more deaths), that 2% is something to be terrified of while null and voiding AT LEAST 98% as that is nothing...real entertainment of these shows and others are something that can be watched, enjoyed taking away the crap of those who think better than the masses of expendables, us, as they poison with bio weapon, that is a lotto too as cant have all drop at once...but lets enjoy a campy tv show that lets reality rest in mind for wee bit.

Legends of Yesterday
SpideyVerse2329 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is the second part of the annual crossover and it delivered in an unexpected way.

Team Arrow and Team Flash are in Central City with Carter and Kendra to figure out how to stop Vandal Savage. They try to figure out how to stop Vandal Savage, which includes a peaceful negotiation attempt through Malcolm and Barry unexpectedly time travelling again.

Meanwhile, Oliver looks into Samantha and tries to confirm that William is his son from 6 years ago. This storyline is sort of resolved in this episode with setup for consequences in later in episodes.

We get flashbacks to Egypt when Carter and Kendra first die and it wasn't anything special but was a nice setting.

Script quality decreasing
Veritas996 December 2015
Warning: Spoilers
For somebody who is not watching Flash ( too childish, sorry) I didn't understand at the beginning of the episode who those new characters where, what was the issue with them...etc

I understand that all episodes are based on former cartoons, but in my opinion the script is losing substance...There were amazing and interesting episodes ( I prefer those with flashbacks from the island, more serious and with a credible plot), but now sometimes I feel like watching a movie for 10 years old kids( Dhark superpowers, Flash, etc)...I know is very difficult to maintain interest of an audience of broad age ( 10 to 70 years:) ) that's why the script writers should decide.... I was a huge fan of the series at the beginning ( I gave 10/10 with great enthusiasm) - but the first 2 seasons were excellent (Arrow's flashbacks from the island, complicated relations between characters..) - now I feel they lost inspiration.

Maybe it could help to get the characters out of the city to have adventures also in other parts of the country/globe - that could put more meat on the skeleton of the plot...there is not much more than it can happen in that city - I think most of the possible catastrophes have happened already , Arrow team prevented them, is getting boring...

A fluster cluck episode
danb19829 September 2019
You know what, I thought an episode from a TV show called Arrow would actually be about The Arrow. But during this episode the arrow cast are treated like a second thought on their OWN tv show. I spent the majority of the episode wondering what on earth was going on, but kept watching Incase I missed something important to the Arrow plot. You could probably skip this episode and not really miss anything paramount to the regular show.

Awful
foxpn-304-15722823 August 2018
This episode is terrible. I spent an hour rewatching the recap and first 3 minutes of the episode trying to figure out who the hell the characters were and wtf was even going on with this episode. It was a completely different plot than the previous episodes and doesnt make any sense. After reading these reviews, I figured out that your supposed to watch the flash at the same time to understand it, which is annoying and makes me not want to have anything to do with this show. I wanted to watch the Arrow, not the flash. I think the writers just decided to take a vacation in the middle of a season... Awful... I hate it so much. If I could rate this as a zero, I would.

What the f!ck...
eapuhala7 May 2019
I'll admit it, Arrow is one of my favorite superhero shows of all time. Maybe even my favorite live action superhero tv show. But why does this episode have a 9.1?!? It's one of the worst episodes in the only season I actively dislike (and believe me, this season is BAAAAD). Between the Felicity and Oliver drama because of William, the Hawks just being really poorly acted and written, and Vandal Savage being a letdown of a villian I can't help but avoid this episode like the plague. How this somehow has a higher rating than other episodes (and even a really good rating in general) somehow alludes and scares me.

I was expecting an episode of Arrow
edummyahj5 March 2016
I was expecting an episode of Arrow which would continue the story line from the previous week.

What I was actually watching was some idiots idea that it would be great to do a crossover episode(s), I assume that there was an equivalent episode on that other series, the mindless and pointless attempt to convert a second rate comic book character to a TV show.

Since I do not watch the flash I quickly became quite bored, after the initial confusion. Thankfully the 1st commercial break soon came and I took the opportunity to switch the TV off. Who would have thought that commercial breaks would be so useful..

I had to score this 1 as it just wasn't really anything to do with the Arrow series, I would have preferred to give it 0 but I can't seem to find a way to this.
