A nostalgic look back to life in Bermondsey in the 1970's, recounting the youth of DJ Danny Baker.
Dad, Freddy is dealing in whatever he can get his hands on, and filling the house full of gear. Freddy is not impressed with Colin, Sharon's new boyfriend and his dodgy plimsolls. Plenty of community spirit on show as one neighbour helps another. Tragedy strikes for one of Danny's young friends.
It looks so authentic, the tower blocks are so right for the time, felt like I was watching Life on Mars. 70's decor is particularly nasty, but I love looking at it, the wallpaper, the sofas etc. The music is brilliant too.
Peter Kay is so good, great to see him in a different role, the language is rather choice but he gets away with it. He's a joy!!
Really enjoyed this, promising start to this new comedy, it was genuinely funny. 9/10
