- A row of black slaves are instructed to remove their clothing. The row is of both men and women. However, the women cover their breasts and pubic regions. However, everything else is visible from the front, along with cleavage of some characters. The men don't make any attempt to cover themselves, and their pubic regions can be seen. However, they can be hard to clearly see. This scene is non-sexual in context.
- A man uses his hand to rape a clothed woman. He sticks his hand under he dress and thrusts, and rape is implied, though not explicitly seen.
- An older man often caresses a younger woman in ways that could imply that he was attracted to her. While he never tries anything, it can be uncomfortable to watch. He treats her throughout the movie with more respect than others, furthering the idea that he is attracted to her

- The movie opens with a boy tied to a post being whipped. Somewhat bloody scars are shown on his back. Later, a woman is seen cleaning the scars, again showing blood.

- A man holds a rifle and aims it at an older man. He makes a 'boom' sound to mimic that of an actual gun, but doesn't pull the trigger. Later, an older man is seen with a gun racks. He aggressively removes one gun from the rack, like he intends to shoot something
- A boy tries to escape at one point. He is pursued by some characters, and is later dragged back into his house.
- War is mentioned as something going on. Two soldiers go looking for recruits, but no one is ever shown leaving or fighting in the war, nor are any scenes of the war shown.
- An older man forces himself onto a younger woman. She pushes him away and he hits his head, then leaves. No blood is present.
- Several characters are shown with blood on their clothing, whether that be from another character or an injury

- A woman has her clothes pulled off by an older man at one point, revealing her bare breasts for a second. He bends her over a table and begins to rape her. Thrusting is seen, though no further nudity is. A woman sees this, and the man stops when he sees her, but continues thrusting after a moment. It is later revealed that the woman becomes pregnant as a result
Violence & Gore
- A boy hangs himself from the rope of a swing. He is shown hanging, and when he is brought down the marks around his neck can be seen. The event itself is never shown
- A woman gives birth towards the end of the movie. She dies, and blood is seen covering the bed sheets.
- A building burns down killing the woman inside. She is seen trying to crawl out of the building when her dress catches on fire. You don't see any other part of her burning. Not graphic
- A woman is burned at the stake. Not graphic and barely any is actually shown.
- Someone tries to to force a woman to have an abortion . A man pins her down while another tries to calm her down. She takes a short knife and stabs the other person in the eye. Throughout the movie she is seen either with a bloody eye patch or a discolored eye

- During one scene towards the end a man is pulled into the ground by several hands. He is buried and supposedly dies Not graphic, but it may scare some viewers
